White Shark Window Cleaning

I had used this company to clean my eaves in 2007. That went relatively well so I re-booked for next year's eaves cleaning. Due to inclement weather they didn't begin eaves cleaning for the season until late into the season and by the time it was our turn, winter was upon us and due to safety, our eaves weren't cleaned that year. Fair enough. Things happen. We re-booked for the following year and it occurred again. We decided that planning for these situations and ramping up workforce to deal with these types of incidences seemed not to be of top priority with this company. We decided to go with Clearview and so far so good. They seemed to do a decent job and have been fairly reliable.

White shark cleaned our eaves twice. They were not cheap. The second time they did a very poor job.

There are two reasons why I think they did a poor job. The first reason occurred a few days after they finished--it rained. Shortly after it started to rain, water started to come into our back room (this was the first good rain of the season). Luckily, it was the only trough I have a ladder tall enough to reach. I took the ladder out in the middle of the storm and cleared it out myself. It was full of debris. They'd obviously missed it completely.

The second reason I think they did a poor job occurred two weeks later. A different eaves cleaner - who was cleaning the eaves of the neighbour's attached house- asked if we wanted our eaves cleaned because they were almost all full of water (they were up on the neighbour's roof so they could see our eaves as well; we can't see inside most of our eaves very well from inside the house).

Of course, initially I said that we'd just had them cleaned. So, this could not be possible. But they assured me that most of the eaves were blocked--After thinking about the earilier experience, I agreed that they could re-do mine.They were right. They brought down another bag of debris. They mentioned that the eaves were poorly done and the cages were not cleaned at all--the ignored cages being mostly responsible for the blockage.

I had not paid the bill at this point. So, I called up and explained both issues. No apologies. A vague mention of a small discount. Very defensive. Mentioned I should have called White Shark immediately if there was a problem. Since, I had someone else clean them it was my fault that white shark have no proof. So, white shark could not do very much for me. I briefly think I should ask to talk to her manager but then think there is no way i would treat a (returning) customer like this. I've also had enough.

I'm supposed to call them in the middle of a storm to clean them? i can't see the inside of the eaves anyways. how am i supposed to know how good a job they did? That's the problem. I'll never know how good a job anyone does cleaning my eaves (well, unless they do a terrible job and a tree starts growing out of the eaves). So, the job is obviously about trust. And, they certainly do not have mine.

White Shark cleaned our eaves 2 times. Selling other products and services as a large part of their cleaning. You have the ability to book future cleaning a year in advance but that does not mean they will actually show up. Not only do they not show up in the time period requested, they also do not contact you to say they will not be coming. You could end up waiting until spring. We did. No thanks! I want someone reliable or at least courteous enough to get in touch.

I hired White Shark to clean my eaves this spring. I actually expected them to clean them! They left from the job, leaving me a bill of $240. A few weeks later, I noticed some leaking. I took a ladder up to check the eaves, and they were full of leaves and debris. I had also asked for cages to be installed over the downspouts. I was charged for the cages ($50), but they were nowhere in sight. I was upset, and decided to call the company. I dealt with a woman named Shanti who said that the crew was there and they cleaned the eaves out. I told her that was impossible, since I went up to look myself. I was not impressed that they doubted their own customer's word. I am going to find a more professional company to clean my eaves next spring.

I have used this company every year for over 5 years -- they are that reliable and good. They will clean the troughs and leave bill in mailbox so no need to stay home for their visit.

After using them to clean my eavestroughs I hired them to paint a bedroom -- after several weeks and missed dates, they finally showed up, without paint (they were to provide). A few hours later, work began, and 'lo just a few hours after that, work ceased -- they left the job incomplete -- wall repairs were quoted but not performed, paint required more coats -- my favourite part were the follow-up phonecalls that were not returned. Eventually the painter, who admitted he was an exterior painter, called back and offered to return but I did not trust them to return by then. Tried calling the company several times, even left messages for the owner, but no calls were returned. I've hired several painters in the past, and have never had such a negative experience.

Dissatisfied with my current cleaner, I called White Shark, who do a lot of business in the neighbourhood. Service was prompt, attentiveness to detail consistent and the overall result excellent. And they cared enough to do a follow up phone call on their performance.

Based on my neighbour's recommendation, I called White Shark out to clean my evestroughs. I was please with the service, but they came before most of the leaves on the nearby trees had fallen down, like I had asked. I give them credit for rectifying the situation and coming again once several weeks later. I'll use them again, and would recommend them to others.

Last winter I put in an order to have my eavestrough cleaned after the leaves fell. I eventually found an invoice in my mailbox, but there was no bag of debris to show that they cleaned te eavestrough. When I called to ask for some clarification, they explained they didn't leave the debris behind at every job. Hoping for the best, I paid the bill.

Not surprisingly, that winter, water wouldn't drain down my downspout. Instead, I got icedams in my eaves and huge icicles.

As I investigated further, I found a huge clot of frozen debris blocking my downspout. I guess the reason there was no debris in a bag for me at the end of the job was because they forced it down my downspout where some of it jammed and ultimately froze.

Nice job. Can anyone recommend a company that will actually do this simple job correctly?

This company of window washers were a little late in their arrival by about 30 minutes but accomplished the job effectively. They're great and friendly and they left no streaks on any of our windows including a tricky one at the back that they had to reach out with their biggest ladder but handled it well.When next year comes we will call them again as they were a total package for us.
