Claiming a Service that we never signed up for
Weed-away were to give an estimate for my lawn regarding a lawn service program. After waiting for someone to show up, I called their 1800 number to cancel any visit because of poor response from their side. The person on the phone also confirmed that it has been canceled.
On April 12/2010, I noticed a lawn care van pull up in front of my house. I told him before he could start any work, that I did not sign up for any contract and their technician went away without performing any activity. I also called weed-a-away at the same time the technician was present and informed the person that picked up the phone and apprised her of the latest development. I confirmed with the person on the phone that the technician has been sent away before doing any work. The matter was closed there and then.
In the week of June 14th, 2010, I have now received an invoice indicating that a service was performed on my property. I called up the company again and told them that this service was never performed. Their company seems to be engaged in sending bogus invoices and harassing the house owner to pay for services which were never contracted and/or provided.
I have reported this matter to BBB and Ministry of Consumer Services.

This situation was a misunderstanding. We had already completed the application for Mr Jaspreet, he had cancelled after the fact. We just wanted to be paid for services rendered and we only threatened collections as a last resort. We have been in business for 39 years and we do not invoice unless a job has been completed.
