Vintage Hardwood Flooring

Had our whole house gutted and renovated cost us $180,000. The main reason for a total reno was to have everything coordinate with a gorgeous new hardwood floor. We picked the Vintage Maple Godiva Estate 5 inch wide engineered floor. It was expensive but that was the look we wanted. Well the Vintage floor is absolute crap. Save your money and buy from a different manufacturer. Vintage doesn't stand behind their product. Before we even had our furniture moved back into the house after the renovation the floor had spots where the finish and color was "peeling" off between the boards. The problem was logged by our contractor with Vintage before we even moved back in. Vintage came over colored in the spots with a "touch up pen". The problem became worse over the first 12 months as 3 or 4 more spots popped up with significant peeling and 5 or 6 other minor spots. We phoned the flooring company and a Vintage rep came by and basically blamed us for the problem stating improper cleaning / humidity etc. The Vintage fix for our $25,000 floors is to color in the peeling spots with a felt pen and replace the a couple boards where the peeling is most severe. Really what crap! This floor was to be our pride and joy the main feature of a $180,000 renovation and the finish peels off! What is it going to look like in 10 years - don't buy a Vintage floor.
UPDATE:
This floor from Vintage continued to have "finish" problems with peeling etc. To fix the problem we spent another $20,000 to have all the Vintage floor taken out and replaced with a "superior high quality" product supplied by a "reputable high quality manufacturer". It has now cost us double the money but so glad to have the garbage floor out of my house!

THEIS COMPANY WAS AMAZING TO DEAL WITH EFFIECNT AND RELIABLE. THEY HAD GREAT SAMPLES TO CHOSOE FROM AND REALLY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING. HELPFUL KNOWLEDGABLE AND THE SERVICE WAS ON TIME AND MY FLOORS ARE GORGEOUS.

I recently installed Vintage Hardwood flooring in my home and I'm more than happy with the product. I choose a Vintage floor due to their impressive product line. They had everything from Domestic to imported and Handscraped hardwood floors. Their also offer most of their floor in a Solid, Engineered or Solid Sawn Contruction.
I choose the Solid Sawn Handscraped Oak. It add so much character and class to my home. I'm really happy we went with this floor. I would strongly recommend this product to anyone.

A year ago we had our Hand Scraped, 7" wide board Hickory hardwood floors installed on our main level and let me tell you - after soccer balls, toy trains and plasma cars, our flooring still looks as stunning as the day we got it. When people come to our newly renovated home, the first thing they comment on is our hardwood floor. Even our contractor has brought clients to our home to see for themselves and they are sold. We would HIGHLY recommend this flooring for everyone and especially for families with active children that still want to maintain a beautiful home.

We purchased Vintage Solid Sawn Hardwood Flooring Hickory Old Mission Handscraped 5'' Plank.
Install throughout our home – main floor & bedrooms. We love the unique look, rustic texture & wide plank of our hanscraped hardwood. Quite impressed with the floor board lengths as well – much longer then any brands we have used in the past. With 2 active boys under 5 – I found it to be a practical choice – can hardly notice scratches or dents. Love it – would pick it again in a minute.

Hats off to a good quality product. We love the variation in rich colour tones. We can't tell you how many times people ask where we got it or what it is. We would buy it again and again. But hope never to move again, building is stressful. We had a tough time deciding on colour initially, everyone says,"dark". Let us tell you, that this was the right choice.
