Too slow!!

The movers were very slow. It took them 5 hours to load the contents of a 2-BR condo apartment into the van, when they had exclusive use of the service elevator, and 9 hours altogether to move me one block away (their estimate was 4 hours total). The crew just didnt seem to be in a hurry. At least one of them (the driver, I was told) was more interested in his phone than in the moving job. He complimented me on my packing, so I dont think the condition of the contents to be moved caused extra time.
Besides their slow pace, the crew didnt follow instructions. They ignored the instructions of the building concierge, to not fill the hallway with furniture for example; they ignored standard This Side Up arrow labels on my packing boxes, moving and setting boxes down with orientations that shuffled the contents; and they ignored room destination labels on the boxes, setting possibly a quarter of labelled boxes down in the wrong room - this perhaps because that was where the top box was supposed to go (but not those underneath).
I had no problem with the final price (except for TouchWood billing my credit card without my approval of the amount). But I wasnt happy that the movers ruined everyones schedules at both ends of the move.

Hi David,
We apologize that we didn't meet your expectations on the job. However, moving contents of a 26Ft truck from house to house is completely different than moving from an apartment to another apartment with elevators at both the locations especially when the size of the elevators was so tiny. Nonetheless, we would definitely improve our services especially in regards to the placement of boxes and following the labels. As far as the payment goes, charging the credit card on file and sending the invoice is a common practice and we only did it because you conveyed to the crew at the end of the job that you'd like to pay by credit card. - TouchWood Movers Team
