Mike, from Stangl's, quoted for a irrigation system for my home. He was professional and courteous during the sales call. His team arrived on time for the installation, in May of 2013, and it was executed with care and diligence. Stangl's closed the system in the fall as part of the original installation. In the spring they contacted me about opening the system, and I had them come out to open the system. At that time, it was discovered the wired connection between the two outside controllers was burnt out. Stangl's said they would be back later to correct the problem, and then I would be billed for the opening after the problem was corrected. He came a week later and corrected the problem and opened the system. However, I was billed for the correction. My response to them was that since the system is not even one year old, that I should not be billed for this defect. Mike the owner of Stangl's called me to explain that it was a billable service. I explained that it must be a defective product or a lapse in workmanship during installation (poor connections). He said, it could not be defective product, because it was low voltage wiring. I started to state my case, and he proceed to talk over me, and then hung up.
Stangl's does a good job at getting your business, but they do not stand behind their product as they said they would. In addition, they do not act in a courteous and professional manner when trying to deal with disputes. Irrigation companies differ in the products they use and the service they provide. Since most irrigation companies use similar quality products, the main difference between irrigation companies is the service they provide, the care and maintenance of the system and of the customer. Stangl's is lacking considerably in this, and I would not recommend them.
