Space Converters were hired to build a second story bathroom addition on our house. It was a disaster from start to finish; principally, because Mike exercised no control or supervision on the project and the sub contractors hired by the company were bordering on negligent. There were numerous instances of lazy and shoddy work, from a messy hardwood flooring job to badly finished drywall. Their sub contractors also took no care with respect to the rest of our house and damaged numerous areas that were not at all engaged in the renovation. Our bathtub and shower leaked repeatedly in the first year and ultimately resulted in a flood through the dining room ceiling. The shower glass
was installed three times before it was done correctly. There was a similar situation with the shower curb which was installed incorrectly twice and then re-done a third and final time they way we said it needed to be done in the first place which has resulted in no more leaks onto the bathroom floor. The worst excesses of their almost laughable construction occurred outside where the framers simply did not finish closing in the roof; something we did not discover until three raccoons moved into our attic. In remediating the raccoons, we also discovered the roofer had left multiple sections of the roof un-shingled and that the siding/aluminum contractor had done a horrific job. With the agreement of Mike, we hired our own roofer and siding/aluminum contractor to repair all of the exterior damage as we had no faith in the contractors used by Space Converters. Mike agreed they would cover the cost. Unfortunately, they have reneged on that promise and we are now suing them in Small Claims Court. Be forewarned: hiring Space Converters will be the worst decision you can make.
