ridge flashing, chimney flashing
For long Dean Harris has been doing all our sun room repairs. We have known Dean since we moved in our home in 2008. He replaced our roof glass, fixed our leaks, always a professional. But, unfortunately since 2 years we cannot get hold of Dean. We left several voice mails but no return call from Dean. Instead Todd turns up. He says Dean is too busy. Trusting the company we contracted jobs for fixing our leaks in the sun room.
Job A. fixing leaks, he said we need to do ridge flashing and I wanted heat cables installed. went ahead with the project last fall. While I was at work in a remote location, get a call asking for increasing the ridge flashing from 2 feet to 4 feet. trusting them asked them to go ahead of course with increase in price.
Now this spring when the snow melted we had several leaks. called Todd to come and have a look. Todd explained the leaks were due to new patio door we installed (we did not go through Todd for patio doors as their prices were almost 3 times of standard price). The leaks are still existing every time it rains. Now Todd says we need to re-caulk all the roof glasses.
Job B. Contracted Todd to add a chimney cap to our chimney. again did this job last fall. This spring when we had a down pour our Master Bedroom floor swelled up due to water leak through chimney. found a lot of water coming in. Complained to Todd about the leak. He said we need to do chimney flashing which he did not do last time as he only did the capping. All these years we never had a leak but all of a sudden we get this big leak. Asked for a quote to fix this problem and we get a quote for a rip off price of $4900 + hst. Finally we had to contract another roofing specialist who did the flashing for a mere $600.
I totally lost trust in this company and will never recommend this to any one.
To summarize, their quality/workmanship is poor. They dont stand behind their job. they ask for more money to fix the job what they did earlier.
They almost scared me into going into fix my sunroom floor and said there will be severe damage if job not done sooner of course for a ridiculous price. Upon second opinion this is no the case and the floor/crawl space is totally dry with floor joists intact.
