It was an extreme pleasure to work with Arthur and his team in the design and build of our Japanese garden. The creative aspect of Arthur's work and the implementation by his staff was awesome. From the initial design through the build, Arthur and his staff were professional, punctual and pleasant to have working at our home. They have transformed our outdoor space from an eyesore to a tranquil and beautiful extension of our home.

Arthur brings experience, imagination and great problem-solving skills to his projects. He and his team were friendly, on-time and reliable. They were great to work with, cleaned up the area and paid attention to the details. Arthur and his team also suggested under-lit, etched glass panels for the upper deck to allow a view of the backyard in the daylight but still provide an interesting focal point and light source in the evening. We, as well as our friends and family, are impressed with the results! Thank you Arthur!

We only had a vague idea of what our backyard should look like and Arthur transformed a weed-ridden back yard into a beautiful extra dining room for us.
He kept some of our existing structures (a spruce tree that he "cloud pruned") and converted a forgotten screen into a focal point. He is passionate about his work/art and really cares that we are happy with the final product. His crew was neat and left our front yard and garage cleaner than before.

We retained Shibui landscaping to rebuild our front porch and the walkway to our house. They also resurfaced an existing wall and removed some boxwoods in the garden. Arthur and his team were punctual, diligent and thoughtful. The work was completed on time and they took the time to address even the smallest details. We're extremely happy with the results.

Arthur transformed our ho-hum backyard into a beautiful oasis suitable for adults and children. All our friends and family commented on our lovely outdoor space. Arthur designed and constructed a perimeter wood fence with gates, Trex deck with bench seating, stone walkway, raised rear stone patio and perennial gardens incorporating a fountain. It is beautiful, and also functional and easy to maintain.

Arthur adhered to the proposed schedule, starting and finished when he said they would. His work is of the highest quality and his attention to detail superb. Arthur has great structural knowledge as well as a strong sense of design and aesthetics (as evidenced by his bonsai work).

Arthur is a friendly and personable guy. He works with a great crew of guys, (Whenever we have worked planned for the house, my young son asks if Arthur and his men will be coming. They were so kind to him - chatting, explaining). Arthur also knows how to calmly deal with difficult neighbours!

Arthur also has a connection for keeping your new landscaped space beautiful - his wife operates a garden maintenance company.

We have since moved to a new house and have already had Arthur come by to look at our property. We will definitely call him and don't hesitate to recommend him to family and friends.

I first hired Arthur Skolnik of Shibui Landscaping about 4 years ago to tear down and replace our front porch (which was leaking into our basement) and driveway (which wasn't properly graded, and which had buckled severely). He and his excellent, professional team did a superb job, on time and on budget. His workers were polite, courteous, hardworking and knowledgeable. Four years later, everything still looks great, and our basement is dry.
When we decided to remove an old, unsightly rotting wood back porch and build a stone patio, there was no doubt in our minds that we wanted to work with Shibui again. Once again, Arthur and his wonderful team of professionals did a great job, both in the design and execution.Arthur worked with us to keep costs down, while properly addressing unforeseen issues as they came up. The result is an amazing backyard that we are proud of. We would not hesitate to hire Shibui again (in fact, we are planning future projects), and would absolutely recommend this company to friends and family.

I had this nice cedar fence and deck built about 6 year ago. It was in great need of a fix up. i also had an unhappy bubble rock. I loved the water feature but it was a bit of a mess. I thought Arthur had a quick and great perspective on what the issues were. I gave him "carte blanche" to fix it.The repair was done in the time frame planned and on budget. I was happy with the creative aspect of his work. i am planning another project for him. The cost was reasonable for the work done. I highly recommend
