Royal Decks did a great job of accommodating our design ideas with our covered hot tub pergola, our backyard deck pergola and our front porch column and railings.
We needed to make some changes, and they were helpful with those and came up with solutions for us, rather than just telling us it couldn't be done like that.

Miro was prompt in responding to communications; we were informed in advance of weather related delays (electrical equipment and H20 are a bad combination), and of the need to order the railings only after completion of the deck, both of which made sense...

Dealing with Royal Decks has been an endlessly frustrating experience. We had 4 quotes for decks and we picked them because they were the most expensive and had good reviews on Homestars and Miro seems like a genuinely nice guy. You pay a hefty deposit ($5000) up front to save the dates 2 months in advance. What was quoted as a 7-10 day job took 2.5 months...always caught up in other jobs. They just disappear for weeks and really don't seem to care. The weather was fine so that wasn't an excuse. You pick out your material months before but they keep having to order it (sorry don't have the plants, and sorry don't have the railings) etc which leads to delays again and again. They made some big mistakes and gave us poor options to fix them. Some of their problems were related to their poor communication with other tradespeople who all were upset by Royal Decks behaviour. What should have been a straightforward relatively small but expensive job has been headache after headache. Problem is once you've spent the money what recourse do you have? Would never recommend them.

We started creating our backyard oasis and the first step was building a deck from the raised rear entrance. From the beginning to completion, Miro and his staff provided top notch service and a very positive experience. First time reviewer, first time homebuyer, first major renovation project.

I decided to get my deck done to utilize the space in my backyard. I researched a number of companies on this website and Royaldecks was one of many that stood out.

I phoned and spoke with Miro and from the start he was upfront, honest and very helpful. He met personally at our house and took all the measurements required, then he sat down with us and discussed ideas, materials and helped guide us as to what exactly we wanted.

I met with 2 other decking companies and after receiving quotes from all 3 I decided to choose Royaldecks and Miro based on his previous works, his attitude and his reputation. I was not let down.

Miro handled everything from start to finish, and was always prompt when replying back to e-mails and calls. He handled all the permits with the city. Everything was done by the book and in accordance with City bylaws. He made adjustments to our deck plan as we wanted and always gave us options and prices along the way.

One thing prospective customers should be aware is that things do not always go as planned. Our deck was delayed due to the city processing the permit, and also the weather. We had a very rainy start of summer and I believe that this caused a backlog in their work. On days when it is raining the work crews will not come out because their tools will get damaged. This is not something I can fault them on, but it is something to keep in mind.

When construction finally started I met with the project supervisors Steven, Pat and Chris. All 3 of them were very helpful throughout the process and always made themselves available. Construction started and went on and off, again due to the weather. You would be surprised just how much can get done in one day. The site was kept clean on a daily basis. All in all my deck was completed from start to finish in about a months time. The crew even went out of their way and helped settle a neighbour dispute and also levelled my old deck concrete support base that was initially installed by the builder.

The deck itself is beautiful, sturdy, and up to code. It is exactly what I wanted and exceeded my expectations! Royaldecks has built us something that we look forward to using for the next 25 years. On a side note I would highly recommend Zuri PVC as a decking material, it's beautiful, low maintenance and long lasting.

These guys are amazing. They provided services from the beginning in helping me plan the deck to the end in fixing all deficiencies no matter how small. I can not say enough good things about Miro, Steve and his crew. They are perfectionists and pointed out things I didn't even notice. The deck was built ahead of schedule and beyond my expectations. Both Steve and Miro answered any queries I had immediately. If you want a deck built, these are definitely the guys to call.

Miro and his whole team were very professional. The project on paper was exactly what I wanted. Steve and Harley worked great together. They were very conchiencious of my gardens, pool, pond and made every effort to work around them. They were very tidy when they worked. We are extremely happy with the result.

We had an excellent experience with Royal Decks. Miro came to us with a combination of the right ideas, right materials, and patience through the many iterations of our design process. Our final design consisted of a large Zuri Walnut PVC deck with an interlocking walkway around it. The combination of the deck and walkway made our backyard an enjoyable space. Chris and his crew did a great job on the interlocking walkway, and Arthur did an outstanding job on the deck. The final result was better than we expected it! We highly recommend Royal Decks.

We began the process of replacing our builder supplied deck last June. We hired Miro's company to build our deck and he agreed to get the permits we needed as well. The permit process took months but his staff were patient and did all the work for us in getting our permits.
After months we got our final permits in January and Miro's crew (Steve, Patrick and Chris) started construction March. His crew were very professional, secured the job site every night before they left. They were able to easily accommodate some last minute changes and still finished on time. Miro was very patient, accommodating and easy to work with. His crew was friendly and were not put off by our young children watching them through the windows. We are very happy with our finished deck and can't wait to have our friends over to show it off.
