Adt Protectron - Out of Business

I called ADT and one technician came who was friendly and work fast. My house is under big renovation when he came. I told him very clear it may take few month to get renovation done. I’d like to check the wiring and set up the alarm system. I will active it whenever the house ready. He said ADT would only charge around $100 installation fee and I can cancel it anytime if I don’t need that. He got me to sign a contract and told me that it is for installation. Everything sounded right and reasonable. I was busy with renovation on that day, didn’t read the paper clearly, just signed it. The nightmare stared since then. ADT sent me invoice of $628.37 right away, which is $150 installation fee plus 1st year charge of $450. I was shocked and told them I didn’t need the service yet and my house is still under renovation. However, they kept calling me, threatened to send my case to collection. The other shock news is they said I signed 3 years contract. If I stopped the service now, I have to pay the extra balance of $1,109.84! Please be very careful when you dealing with this company, otherwise you may lost a money in a second.
