All second floor windows replaced
The windows are fine - although I can still feel a bit of a breeze through them in strong winds. The problem is that the screen is not in a track but just sitting on the outside of the window. All that is holding the screen in is four small pegs - i.e. all you need to do is pull up slightly and the screen comes away easily. We have a cat who leaned against it and the screen bent outward at the peg and he fell down into the backyard.
I would NEVER EVER buy from them again!!! Imagine if that had been a small child or baby!!
- Company Response
In response to the screen issue please be advised that all our Enersave windows are CSA and Window Wise certified, and come with a life time warranty.
The screen pins sit inside a track, and are spring loaded to hold the screen in place. The number of pins is determined by the height and width of the window. In order to remove the screen, the pins from one side must be pulled out of the screen track to dislodge it. Leaning against the screen when the pins are fully engaged in the track will not cause the screen to bend outward or fully dislodge. Please also note that in case of fire or other emergency, the screens are designed to break away under reasonable force, without having to spend time removing the pins that hold it in place.
It is important to remember that the main purpose of a screen is to keep insects out and not to keep pets or children in.
Our recommendation is that children should never be left unattended near open windows.
