10 Replacement Windows & 1 Patio Door

I'll start by saying their product and installation is great and their pricing is better, if not comparable to the other companies. They're up front about what's not included in their direct services (i.e. painting the interior moldings) and the corporate office does execute a good customer follow up. When you call their office, they promptly answer and forward you the right department/person. They will be happy to provide you with details on the schedule for delivery, installation, etc. Your windows are made to order, so it may take a few weeks before they actually come in (they'll give you an estimated timeline). Once they receive it they set up the installation date. The folks doing the installation are awesome (there were 4 guys working on our project) - they put out sheets to keep debris and dirt off our floor and kept their workspace very tidy, and cleaned up at the end of each day. Installed product looks perfect and all that was left for me to do was paint on the inside. They also showed me how to use the new windows. From start to finish (ripping out the old to installation of new) took 2 full days.

Now for the negative, which were all the sales gimmicks:
I really didn't need all the gimmicks and would have still moved ahead with their services regardless. If you think this might influence you the points are below:
1) 0% financing was offered. No copy of the financing application was provided - only a quote of what the monthly payments would be without mentioning interest. I later found out that it was not 0%, and paid it off immediately after going back and forth with the financing company over the discrepancy (ended up costing me an extra $10 in interest plus my time for phone calls, emails, etc.). If you do need to finance, then the rates and plans they offer are actually pretty good. I didn't need to finance, but if it was 0% then it wouldn't hurt for me to hold on to my money for a little longer.

2) They offered me "free round trip airfare for 2". All I had to do was fill out the form (no copy was provided to me). A few months later I got the package in the mail and it ended up being free round trip airfare for 2 if you purchase grossly overpriced hotel/resort stays (which would make up the difference anyway). Even if this was independently marketed, I wouldn't go for it. The other issue with this, is the company they promote (One Stop Travel) is an American company without TICO registration and should not be engaging potential clients in Ontario using this method. Also, the salesman is not TICO certified and should not be promoting/marketing travel services (tico.ca).

3) They offered me free rooftop solar panels, which I can use to sell energy back to the grid and essentially get my windows for free (with the offsetting profit). All I had to do was fill out the form (of which no copy was left with me). I looked up the company shortly after the sale and found out that this was actually a rooftop lease program, so you don't own the solar panels, the solar panel company leases your roof to get the solar energy with their panels and pays you a fraction of what they'd be earning from the electricity generated. Still a good program if approached independently (there are many companies which you should compare for rooftop leasing programs), but these are not free solar panels.

When I got the follow up call from their office, I explained to them that I was happy with the windows and the installation and that they didn't need to use gimmicks. I also told them what are in the 3 points above (including the legal implication of selling travel). They had no response other than ok and that it was noted, so I'm assuming there will be no follow up on it.
My suggestion is when dealing with these guys just look at the product (windows/doors) and the total price (not monthly payment) - everything else is smoke and mirrors. I saw the gimmicks as added value and it wasted some of my time trying to figure out what exactly I was getting from them (nothing).

Salesman said he would be there during installation and was not.
Called the salesman many times after the sale regarding some simple questions, etc. and he never returned a call. Maybe the salesman gets his commission once the forms are at the office and gets a referral commission from the other companies he's promoting as soon as they get their forms too. So he probably doesn't care after that happens.
I had to call the company's office to inquire about everything.

Again, great product, great service, just ignore the added stuff pushed at you by the salesman.
