Aggressive Delivery and Lack of Etiquette
I had ordered an oven from a company I will not name in this review. This company had hired Nowak to deliver the appliance to my home.
The Nowak delivery persons had called me at 9:50 am and stated they would show up between 30 mins to 1 hour. I arrived home at 10:35 am and greeted them with a smile and sprinted towards the front door. Instead of greeting me back, a worker which I will name "X", complained in an irate tone, and said he been calling for ages while the other worker "Y" was frowning. I found this incredibly rude, and I just thanked them for waiting and ran to the door to open it for them.
They wheeled the device into the kitchen and placed it on the ground away from the spot the oven was supposed to go. They stated they were on a tight schedule and were in a rush to leave. I asked if they would push the oven into the nook underneath the fumehood for me before leaving. "X" plugged the power cord into the wall, and "Y" pushed the oven into position.
"Y" exited the house abruptly, and "X" asked me to sign papers and check off the top two boxes which stated the deliverers did not damage the merchandise. Because I did not get the chance to visually inspect the entire oven before they pushed it in, I wasn't comfortable signing the papers. I didn't know I had to sign papers or else I would have inspected the item and then asked them to push the oven into position.
I also asked where the operational manuals were located and whether they kept them in the vehicle with our box. X said they were in the oven. He had to make a phone call to his partner who was outside and come back with the box because we thought some manuals were left outside with our box.
This is when "Y" started acting aggressively. He stormed into the house quickly. Then the two of them complained that they couldn't just pull the oven back out after they had pushed it back into the kitchen nook underneath the fume hood. After some uncomfortable moments, they eventually agreed to do so.
Before the oven was pushed back against the wall underneath the fume hood, "Y" made several twists of the plug head quickly and aggressively. I didn't ask him why because they were rushing and pressuring me to sign the papers.
After they left, I turned on the oven and there was an error message; I don't know if the more aggressive worker had damaged the oven.
Long story short: I had to return the oven and went through the hassle of having it removed.
I'm writing this review a little over a year and every time I think about this incident I am angry and upset. At that time I had moved into my new home and to have these delivery people act so rudely, and aggressively while pressuring me to sign papers so they can leave quickly---was a very bad experience.
They lacked customer service skills and lacked basic etiquette when entering and exiting someone's home.
I didn't order another appliance from the un-named company because I didn't want to deal with Nowak Transporting again.
To those two delivery persons at Nowak Transport--you should be ashamed of yourselves--and learn some manners.
