Moving Company

On our first meeting, everything seemed very professional. Our furniture was expertly checked and the price was expertly put together for us!!! We did feel quite safe. All was good until the day. On June 20th, the 3 men came on time, started getting my furniture ready to move out of my condo. No carpets put down as promised! Within 2hrs: break no1, which took me by surprise. Note: we were told that the workers will be quick and take only a lunch break. Then all the packing was done by 1230pm (because we had everything dismantled and packed in boxes ready to just take down)one of the men even commented on how organised we were. I was told they will take their lunch break and bring the furniture to my new location in just over an hour. 2 hours later(!!!), I am still waiting for the men to arrive. Of course I am worried as they have all my furniture... I call Moveworks office and cell, no answer!!! Finally they arrive and I ask them what took that long, they said traffic. I find that hard to believe as I took the same route about 20mins after them and I got there fine. And I know what route they took as I gave them the directions!! Again, no carpets put down until I mentioned, they did not want to take their shoes off either and this was a rainy day and my house is in a new neighborhood, so lots of mud on the ground. Luckily we had put down cardboards in the front area ourselves. My clothes that were on hangers were mostly hung up, but many items I found on the floor in each of my cupboards. The men were also using their dirty gloves to handle my clothes. I was not impressed. There were 2 more breaks in the afternoon so finally when it was done, an hour over the estimated time, it came time to pay. The driver insisted we pay more that we were asked to pay. He was very rude to my husband, raising his voice and advising his colleagues to leave as he would be at our house for a couple of hours more. I was shocked that an employee would behave in such a way - I was not even talking to the owner and was being treated so badly. In the end we paid up thinking we will take this up with Moveworks later on. I started making my calls to Moveworks, but ended up leaving message for 2 days. Finally I get a call back and was promised my money back. ITS NOW OVER A MONTH.I have not received any money, I have not heard back from Moveworks and I am actually getting more and more fustrated thinking about this. With such bad customer service, do you think I am going to recommend them to anyone??? NO WAY. A month later I am still waisting my time over a service that I have over paid for in the first place, that did not fulfill all their promises of a PROFESSIONAL JOB and cannot be bothered to even get in touch with me after the fact. I have now rated this company ZERO after a month, and I can safely say: Never again and will not recommend!!!

Hi Alpa,
We apologize for the delay with your refund. We are sending back $200.00 to compensate for the difficulties during your move. We apologize for the fact that they smoked on the truck and you were unable to reach us on the day of the move. We have resolved this problem by obtaining cell phone numbers for all our customers and calling them while the move is in progress. This way any problems can be dealt with at the time.
