GJ MacRae Foundation Repair

Thanks to Dean, Memet and Jose for doing a solid, professional job in every way, from customer service, quote, parging and clean-up.

The foundation (from 1924) had a couple of deep gouges in it (5 inches deep and about 4 feet X 5 feet (vertical/horizontal), likely from a neighbour's leaky downspout. The surface was loose along the whole side so they scraped down till they found solid and then built it back up with layers.

Cosmetically it looks very good while it adds strength and leak-prevention to the wall.

I have NO problem recommending this company. You can't take chances with a foundation.

Moved into my house to find a small flood in the basement every time it rained. I called GJ MacRae and was greeted warmly by Noreen. Dean came out the next day to conduct an . Normally I get a few quotes before deciding on who is best for the job, but Dean instilled an immediate sense of trust. No pushy sales or scare tactics. The work was done in less time than estimated and the crew even fixed up some other parts of my concrete floor that needed adjusting - a couple of holes and a large hump in the ground that they jackhammered out and smoothed with new concrete. Thanks to everyone, I now have a dry basement! Highly recommended - efficient, thorough, professional.

Water proofing an 1896 stone foundation is no easy feat, although they made it look easy. Great guys, great crew extremely happy with outcome. Having them back to do more as there is no one else I trust with our foundation.

Work started with an assessment from Dean - very knowledgeable and took the time to explain what was required and answer any questions. Work began within a week, as scheduled. Can't say enough about Magnus and his crew. They exceeded our expectations:) They were polite, respectful of your property, and left the worksite clean, orderly and safe at the end of each day. These guys are focused and know what they are doing! Couldn't believe how much work they were able to accomplish every day!! During the process, they discovered they did not actually need to do as much work as originally thought - as a result the final bill came in less than originally quoted. GJMacRae (Milan) did a phenomenol job reparging our foundation and repairing an indoor basement wall crack. He has got an exemplary work ethic ....a true perfectionist !!!! I had several companies assess the leaky basement, none offered me an estimate just described crazy repairs that would need to be done with no clear understanding of what needed to be done. They dug up the front of the house, replaced the weeping tile, fixed a crack and fixed the whole that was from the water main not being installed properly and fastened a waterproof membrane (I forget what it's called). My quote was very detailed and anyone I read the quote to was very happy with it.

Prompt service by Dean for a quote, on a Saturday. Always kept us apprised of work being done and answered any and all questions about the job. The wro was done for my mother and she also had good comments about quality of work and the workmanship.

They dug down to the footing and repaired the cracks,sealing them appropriately. The work was done clean and efficiently, considering it rained the week that they worked.

We had water coming in from a rod hole. Dean came right over and had his workman on site the next morning. They repaired the area but a few weeks later the leak came back...I called at 7 PM and left a message, the response was immediate from both Noreen and Dean. Again Dean was right over with Gavin, they looked at the area and saw the problem and were back that afternoon to correct it. It is a day later with apx 30-50 mm of rain on the ground and no issue.Very good work, great response to a follow up issue.One of the best companies I've worked with...

With lots of water coming through an old block wall foundation we dug down to find that a large section of weeping tile was missing because the builder didn't bother to remove an oversized boulder next to the wall. We jack-hammered the boulder into manageable pieces and removed it. There were also several tennis ball sized holes in the blocks. We repaired all and back-filled just hours before a rainstorm. Not a drop in the basement!
