New Home

Mattamy provides a terrible service. I am a second time Mattamy homebuyer and saw a considerable drop in the quality of workmanship & service. They do not seem to care & would rather inconvenience the homeowner multiple times (going on 6 visits) than fix the issues. They come unprepared to your house & only manage to get 1 thing fixed after a whole day of work. I have been waiting for 3 issues from my PDI to be fixed & I have been in my home for over 1.5 years. Most of the actual workers are great, the warranty managers are the problem Buyer beware! I will never buy another mattamy again!

Mattamy Home

When you build a new home, you expect to have issues. How these issues are dealt with, is a different matter. What you cannot complain about is floorplans, size of garages, not back landscaping etc. The floorplan is one that you as an individual pick, the garage sizes are on your plans, and they are up front with what landscaping is done for different types of homes (townhouses, duplexes, single family detached). Not enough people who are happy with their homes built by Mattamy actually come on these sites, and say why they love their home. If you are unhappy with your own decision, thats not a reason to criticize Mattamy. These reviews are meant to help people make an educated decision on what could be the largest purchase of their lives.
I'd recommend Mattamy to my own family, nevermind friends.

new home

Was very satisfied with the Quality of build. Helps you every step of the way. No hidden costs. They do a frame walk, prior to drywall. Also provided classes "university" to ask all questions and meet your neighbours. Best of all the put a bow on the door upon closing and give u a plant as a gift! Makes you feel good spending all that money. Its all in the little things!

New Home

Our home was poorly built. The quality of the overall work is poor. It's like Mattamy uses unskilled people. The finished product was not refined. There are just too many issues to mention.

The frame walk they skipped even though they promised it. The builder denied us that opportunity. Thanks to their supposedly surly builder, Tony (bearded with receding hairline and a bald spot and talkative). This guy is disingenuous . He is full of talk. When I encountered him, he made many promises he didn't keep. He is pure talk. Under his guidance, they cut corners.

Mattamy itself makes my promises it too didn't keep. They promised to follow up on our concerns during the building process and they didn't obligate that promise. They say they're different from other builders. That's nonsense. Mattamy promises quality and the end product delivered is subpar at best. The customer service people say they care when I attended Mattamy U. They had us fooled because they don't care one Iota.

Mattamy just cares about getting the owner into a problem riddled home by denying the home owner quality time to do a complete PDI in identifying issues so they can quickly close the deal to collect from the purchasers' mortgage providers. After the deal is closed and the owners move in, that's when the owners discover they have been had when deficiencies that were forced to over look during the PDI, start being noticed. They are serious flaws at that. Ones that make you angry. Ok, I am going to post some defects I am still fighting with Mattamy to fix.

The defects are as follows:
•Water seeping into coldroom
•Conduit blocked and is enclosed by drywall
•Gapping hole by front door where security camera is to be mounted because brick layer turned the electrical mounting box horizontal and camera is mounted and supposed to be mounted vertically
•Gaps in installed wooden floors
•Failed to connect dishwasher power source
•Front door has to be forced to close
•Gaps between back door and frame causing drafts
•Many gaps between installed cabinets
•Ensuite shower faucet leaks
•Water seeps between faucet and counter top in the cupboard below in ensuite
•Fractured exterior bricks
•Basement finish shotty
•Lots of dings everywhere
•Warped drywall
•Spotty paint job and sloppy
•Hole in drywall
•Main bathroom door rubs against frame
•They drilled thru the garden door on the surface to line up where to cut the bolt slots in the frame
•They delivered severely chipped molded steps and put them at the garden door
•ETC (everything they did at the house is sloppy. Amateurs. If I were working for them, I would have done a better job than their run of the mill workers and I would have taken pride in my work.)

Mattamy doesn't follow up on the work being done. This tells me they don't care to.

Don't buy Mattamy even if their customer service rating is high. We bought based on the rating and we regret it. I'm suspicious as to how they scored so well when both my neighbors and I are not pleased with their work. One neighbor did mention that they tried to influence him to vote favorable for them by being given some perks. You, don't trust me? Go ahead and buy and learn the hard way for yourselves.

New home

Where to start. we purchased our home from Mattamy in Airdrie. We didnt have a great experience with the sales people (seemed like car salesmen and the man there was rude to the female employees) but we decided "hey, we won't have to deal with them very often" and liked the look and interior finishings of the house. Boy were we wrong. Nothing but problems from day 1 with changes in materials to dates not met. When we did the walk through for our home we were told to use green painters tape to mark any deficiencies in our home to be fixed before we moved in. By the time we were done it looked like someone had splatter painte green all over the house. Cheep materials, dings and scratches everywhere, drywall tape bubbling and not properly joined, gaps in the flooring, crappy paint job to name just a few things. We were met with a brick wall to get them fixed and told the scratches and dents were "normal" for a new home from all the trades people and brushed off. It I now a yet later and we have cupboard door screws falling out, built in cabinets pulling apart at the seams. Worst decision of our lives to build with them. Don't let it be yours. I'm counting down to the day out mortgage is up for renewal!!!

Our new Home

False promises, poor workmanship and incomplete products. This is what we have come to expect from Mattamy homes in Airdrie. 2 months living in our "new" home and the painting is not completed, the outside looks horrible due to lack of completion. Recommendation.....DO NOT BUY A MATTAMY HOME.

semi custom home.

I will begin by saying that I would not be able to recommend using Mattamy Homes. They have had issues starting from the original contract signing. The list is extremely long on things that went wrong. It starts with no hot water when moved in and it was cold for more than 4 days. Sewage that came up the first week in my front yard. They never snaked the main sewage line. The fireplace did not work for months. My floors had to be ripped out and re installed. They put the wrong stone on my fireplace. I had to fight beyond belief to get it changed. My upgraded doors were all damaged. There was no overflow in my second floor master tub. My AC unit has already had issues. My cabinets were damaged from them getting installed. They gave me the wrong oven. It is a less expensive oven. My irrigation system sounded like it was going to explode. I cannot open my fridge door the entire way. My door bell has already stopped working. My granite is horrible and they should be ashamed to put it into one of their homes. I have spent hours here at my home like a prisoner waiting for trades after trades to show up to fix the issue. They end up creating another issue and I have to wait for yet another trade. Nothing is fully fixed. I am just sick of dealing with them. There is more on the list, but you can get the point. There is no follow through at the company and constant excuses. I will not be building through Mattamy again. I love being able to recommend products and companies. I just don't have any thing positive to say. Also, the sales lady Kelly was rude and made inappropriate remarks to me and other customers. I would also like to be able to say that I am an isolated case. Unfortunately, most of the new homes built by Mattamy in Marley Park, Surprise, Arizona are having the same problems.

BUYER BEWARE

This company over promises and under delivers then when you bring attention to shoddy construction work they say "Oh, we have addressed that." Board clearly marked REPLACED are still in our home, wrong windows, drainage issues, incorrect fireplace, the list goes on and on. Brenda in Belmont was absolutely HORRID to work with.

new townhouse chestermere

Horrible builders who slap houses up and do not repair their bldg. errors. I will NEVER buy another Mattamy built home
NEVER.
They take all your money, no deck, no front yard lawn, no fence, the paint job is horrible, drywall screws popping, ceiling in laundry room or bathroom not knock down which I paid for. They said the moisture causes the ceiling to fall off. Concrete was broken on the garage pad never fixed it. Painters can not fix the original horrible paint job, window casings are warbled and alum they say that just the way it is, garages are so small you can barely fit in an SUV and getting out of your vehicle is a task, design of their interiors are horrible main bathroom is down a flight of stairs, some have no closet as you walk in, no where to put coats, I would not recommend this builder.

New home

We have built 3 new homes in the past 10 years, all by different builders. Mattamy is by far the worst. Upon moving in, all wall corners are cracked, baseboards are chipped, no heat in the house etc. Not sure how they passed inspection. They also have one of the cheapest standards out there with missing basement wall studs, 24 inch OC, no lights in dining room, cheap plastic tower hangers... the list goes on. Making all of this worse is the altitude of the sales. They claim to be the biggest builder out in east. So either you go with their rules, or you use a different builder. The sales guy was not interested in making a sale at all. Not recommended!!
