Hi and thank you for your review of Terry and Kathy's service. With our awesome design software we often work with clients remotely - either because of distance or just to get it done that much quicker (we are Kwik Kloset after all...). Given the measurements and a brief description or conversation, we reply with full 3-D models of each closet along with a fixed price quote for each space. Changes can be made quickly so if required a couple of versions of each space can be done in minutes and a final solution arrived at all over the web. I honestly don't know how or why most other closet companies still use paper drawings - do you think they still have pagers too? LOL

Contrary to what most of our clients expect, for closet organizers we don't require highly accurate measurements, since we custom-fit our closet solutions on-site at our clients' homes. As a result we can effectively work with our client's measurements without worrying that the end result won't fit when we arrive to install the system. This is possible because of the advanced Kwik Kloset closet organizing system which combines 'factory width' shelves, drawers, and baskets with custom-cut shelves and rods to exactly fit the organizer between the walls. This process works very well for the majority of the clothes closets we outfit. We complement this system with custom manufacturing if required, e.g. a kitchen pantry that requires drawers to be a non-factory width, and home offices and entertainment centres which tend not to include hanging sections.

By the way, we do the cutting outside our clients' homes, or in some cases if necessary inside with high-tech vacuum-equipped tools. We leave the place cleaner (and obviously better organized) than when we arrived.

Hi Manny - nice to hear from you. Sorry it has taken me far too long to reply, busy busy busy. Did you know that the Responsiveness rating on Homestars is not at all related to our customer service? It is based on how quickly we respond to reviews. That's right, we pride ourselves on how quickly we reply to our customers, and how much sooner we can get their home organized than our competitors, and yet our score is degraded by Homestars because I am too busy providing our excellent service to reply to our customer's awesome reviews right away. My bad. We'd likely have a 99.9% rating if I make the effort, so I guess that's what I'm going to have to do. Sorry, this is a pet peeve of mine since Homestars changed their rating system and we lost our top spot because of this... But I have to say that people looking for a services like ours are likely not very concerned about how quickly a company responds to their reviews, but would be very interested to know which companies do and don't provide their services in a timely fashion. Just sayin'. :)

With regards to the specifics of your review, Manny, yes although we endeavour to get the designs done right and build the ultimate solution, there are times when once we're finished and our client's put their things away they realize they want a minor change or two. More long-hanging than they thought, an extra couple of shelves for shoes etc. We have no problem accommodating most such changes, often at no charge dependning on the scope of work required. Of course if the adjustments were required because of something we did incorrectly there would never be a charge.

The important thing is as you noted, we built it, we adjusted it, and you're very happy with the results. A perfect 10 and satisfied enough to take the time to tell others about it. Thank you so much.

Sorry It has taken me awhile to respond - You have mentioned several things that really should be highlighted:

1) The build it yourself products are exactly that - cheap. If you are not going to be where you are for much longer, and you don't care to upgrade your closets before you sell (or if you are renting), then by all means if you have the skills go for the DIY option;

2) Expensive companies are expensive for a couple of reasons, including high overhead, and the unnecessary upsell: The closet world version of 'would you like fries with that?'. The big one is selling more drawers than are needed by the customer. A good designer will explain to the homeowner that drawers are only necessary for small stuff - everything else hangs or goes on shelves. Drawers are the most expensive major component in a closet upgrade - don't overdo it!

3) 3D plan on the computer. I cannot over-empathize how important the 3D design tool is. It not only allows the designer and the homeowner to make changes quickly and accurately, it really shows what the end result is going to look like in a remarkably realistic way. Our customers really know what they are going to get before we build it.

We developed the Spaceman model to help reduce the chance of creating headaches by reducing the opportunity for miscommunications within Kwik Kloset, and reducing the opportunity for miscommunications with our customers by using a state-of-the-art design and presentation tool. Good communications = no misunderstandings = ZERO headaches!
