Finished work within $ and time estimates. Responsive office personnel. Very professional installation team. High quality end product. Very satisfied all around with product and service. Would recommend to others looking to replace windows and doors.

Our experience with GEM was terrible – our windows were installed 6 weeks late and it was by far the worst customer service experience we’ve ever had with a company. The complete lack of respect to us as customers was totally unprofessional.
We were given a 4 – 6 week timeline for installation of two windows in our house, this fit nicely into our first baby’s planned due date 10 weeks later. Over the next 3 months I spent hours of my person time following up with three different members of the GEM team with little or no response, I sometimes left or wrote 4 – 5 messages before hearing back – if I heard back at all. I was promised call backs or emails that never came, and once again I had to chase them down. I was given all kinds of excuses for the delay - vacations mix up, incorrect order, window was heavy the manufacturer and my personal favourite “We are so busy”. After the 6 week deadline was missed I spent one month asking for my deposit back, instead I was given a 10% discount and was then told 12 – 16 weeks was typical for the industry…so basically too bad for us? Finally 12.5 weeks after our initial meeting and deposit the windows were installed.
The only positive part of the entire transaction was the installers – they were professional, friendly and took into consideration I had a 2 week old baby in the house.
I see that many people are writing glowing reviews (and are incented to do so) – but with so many window companies out there to choose from I would not recommend taking the chance that you will have a disastrous experience like the one we had with GEM.

The workmanship for the measurements, installation, and finishing touches were excellent. The accessory handle for the door opens easily. The salesperson helped us choose the right door and the right colour from the showroom models. The installers gave us helpful instructions on using the door in all seasons.

I dealt with several different people through the various stages of my order and all were very helpful, courteous and knowledgeable about their product. The window fitters were punctual, worked quickly, thoroughly and were great about keeping the mess to a minimum and cleaning up. And the new window looks terrific. I would go back to Gem for more windows for my home and would recommend them to friends.

Over the past few years I have had Gem Window and Doors put in my front door, side door, and eight windows.. each time I have found them to be on time and courteous. They also have very competitive prices. They work well as a team and left my home clean. I figure if I keep coming back they MUST be doing things right.. I would not hesitate to call them in the future when I need more windows or doors.

Gem Windows and Doors gave us the best price by far, and their products are top-notch. We dealt with Seymour, who was friendly, professional, and quick to answer any questions. He helped us pick out the types of windows we wanted quite quickly. He also helped me out with some questions after the job was done and had been paid for, proving that he cared beyond just getting my money.

Walter and his assistant did a terrific job installing the windows really quickly. We had two windows that were difficult to get to, but they never complained and got the job done quickly, despite the difficulty. They cleaned up after themselves well, and never tracked any dirt into the house despite getting the job done on a damp day in November, and only took one 25 minute lunch break!

Overall, I couldn't be happier with the work they did, and I wouldn't hesitate to refer this company to anyone looking to get windows installed.

Our experience with Gem regarding our kitchen window was professional and courteous right from the start.From the initial estimate from Dave,to the booking of the installation with Trina,finally to the professional installation by Frank and his crew.They made sure that our floors were covered and all debris was cleaned up upon finishing.
Gem will be getting more of our business in the future.

Walter and worker arrived prompty on time, patio door disassembled quickly and new door was installed with no problems. Door and windows where cleaned along with frame, as well as debri left behind. Both workers very pleasant and knowledgeable. Very happy with service.

The installation team was ontime and professional. Our floors and stairs were covered and they cleaned up. Concerns about the foam insulation extruding through the calking were explained and a date was set to recalk and solve the problem right away. The owner of the company had been on site to check the instalation and dealt with any concerns we had. Large showroom helped us to understand what we were buying. Sales staff made suggestions about how to keep costs down. The installation was three weeks later than I hoped as the jobs had piled up, this was my only issue.

We had two casement windows installed by Gem Windows and found the two guys who came to install the windows were very professional and did a great job. They took the time to show us how the windows operated, and were generally very patient and helpful.
