Empire Moving

Empire moving provided excellent service on my move. There was a delay between closing so it was a double move that could not have been handled better. They arrived on time and were very quick and efficient. The move into storage was great. They were more than happy to send the same crew "Flippers crew" to do the second move, which was extremely helpful as I didn't have to tell them the same things to be careful of. The move in was in late afternoon and the guys were really good about it, they struggled to get a couch that didn't want to go down to the basement and didn't give up until they got it, a couple of doors off and an amazing amount of patience and they got it down. The price was very reasonable I couldn't have asked for a better move.

The company is priced similar to other movers, but they are terrible. The movers wasted a 1/2 hour before even getting started, did not provide floor covers as quoted, did not provide wardrobe boxes as quoted, AND damaged some furniture even after we requested several times to be careful. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Empire Moving delivered on time and without a scratch I hired Empire Moving to help me with my short notice move mid-November. I found the company through one of my neighbours who used them a week before. After contacting customer service I was offered free packing material delivery and a no-obligation same day estimate. The crew was right on time, 9am sharp. The job took a little longer than originally quoted, however, it all came down to careful wrapping of my antique furniture pieces. The guys did a really good job and I would certainly recommend them to my friends.

Empire moving of Toronto are movers with massive fraudulent practices. They moved me last week, my move that was supposed to cost me $1,300, cost me over $3,200.

They used the role of movers, to get possession of our goods. Without our consent, they charged Two thousand dollars on our credit card( Once we came to know of this charge, we complained to credit card company to reverse the charges). We never got a copy of our contract & when we asked for a receipt of cash paid, they made excuses that have run out of receipts. They came ill equipped & a move of 6-7 hours was extended to 16 hours. Every half hour or so they demanded more money giving us a choice of either –coming up with more cash or they will abandon the move with the goods. Once they knew that I would not give any more, they dumped the goods all over -some in the lobby , some in front of the building.

They damaged several pieces of our expensive furniture & broke three plate glass pieces –all that I got from them was that they were sorry for the damages.

They do not have their address on their website & refused to divulge it when questioned.

Terrible service!!! Do not trust them to do your move. I booked a move with them well in advance between 2 and 3 pm. They called me early in the morning at moving day and at 1 pm to confirm that everything was ok for my move. Around 2:30pm they let me know that they just could do it at 6:00 pm and I had NO CHOICE. After many phone calls they let me know at 7:30 pm that they were ready to come to my house. I told them theat I live in a condo and you cannot move after 8 pm. So, I got stuck in my place and their position is that it is not their fault. Very, very unprofessional...

Empire Moving formeraly Magnum Moving moved me 3 weeks ago. They ran their truck into my porch causing $1400 of damage. I was told that they would compensate me for the damages at the time but now no one will return my call. There is no information on their website as to their location or who to contact. The dispatcher is evasive and there is no owner / manager to phone directly. Please do your research before you trust this company with your possessions.

Bad experience!!! Do not use this company!!!

Company did not uphold promised contract rates!! Additional fee for "truck rate" (equal to 1 hour) outlined when they arrived to pick up my household goods. Additionally the movers arbitrarily changed the 5% fuel surcharge (calculated to $40)to a flat rate of $50 at the time of unloading.

The movers took 1 hr, 40 minutes to drive from Don Mills & Eglinton to Pickering (Sunday with no traffic) and explained they would deduct the extra time, 1 hr 20 minutes (but did not)

Very sloppy- They carried, stacked boxes on their sides or upside down.
