Excavation and replacement of 4" pipe due to cracked joint
We had just purchased a resale home and had some water leaking from the drainpipe in the basement where the 2" kitchen drain connects to the 4" which goes under the floor. After 2 estimates it was clear that the joint on the 4" was cracked and would need to be replaced, which meant digging up the floor to replace part of the 4" line. Frank came out and went over the problem and solution, and also recommended a change to the layout of the drain which would help access to the cleanout when we decide to finish the basement. Walter (and his co-worker, whose name I did not catch) came out the next day and jackhammered out the floor, replaced the drain and backfilled and poured the new concrete - and did an outstanding job. He also laid out runners so there would be no mess in the house.
A few days later Jeremy came out for our drain inspection (the one with the camera) and was very thorough and explained everything as he inspected the pipes.
Overall I am extremely satisfied with the entire experience, from the estimate, to the work and finally the inspection. Having an excavation in your new home can be an unsettling experience but Frank, Walter and Jeremy were a pleasure to deal with. I would recommend Drainworks to anyone looking for a professional plumbing company.
Oh, and their estimate (and final invoice) was 3 times cheaper than the first company's estimate, who is also rated highly on homestars. It pays to shop around!
Lastly, hats off to Eddie and his company for the donations they make to Sick Kids. Keep up the good work!
