Derek is the saint of all things TREE! I am not joking. We have used his services MANY times both at our new property and our old.
At the old property, he saved our apple tree, trimmed out of control chinese elm and dealt with a GIANT oak tree that took down our power lines and fence. His team rescued our place during the massive Etobicoke storm in July 2013 (when we had no power) and the Christmas 2013 (when we had no power). Just this past week they did a gorgeous job cleaning up a GIANT maple in our new yard making sure it didn't interfere with power lines etc. My new neighbours liked his work so much they hired him on the spot after watching him work.
Derek is HONEST, he won't sell you services you don't need. He always shows up on time, does the job exceptionally well and leaves no trace. This week the whole family left for work Friday morning and when we returned the giant maple was beautifully trimmed and thinned with no evidence that the team was even here.
Derek is amazing and you will not be sorry you hired him and the team.

Derek and his crew arrived on time today just as promised.They removed many branches that had been damaged by the ice storm as well as pruning some trees that were overhanging onto our roof.The workers were very professional and ensured that no damage was done to any part of the property.After they were done you wouldn't even know they were there..It's the second time we have used their service and i'd strongly recommend them to anyone.

We hired Derek and his crew to remove two large maples from our back yard. On the day the work was to take place Derek and his crew arrived on time and got right to work. They did an excellant job taking down the trees and cleaning up when they were finished. I would recommend Derek to anyone and have already past his name and number along to friends.

This is the second time I have called in Derek's Tree Service. Derek came over within one day to provide an estimate. Their crew arrived today - very courteous and efficient!!! The work was done quickly, safely and with with great precision. They did a nice clean-up afterward and all the wood has been taken away. I would highly recommend this company to anyone requiring tree services and will definitely use them again!

We had large white pine trees in our yard which were hanging over the pool that we wanted to remove to reduce pool maintenance and increase the amount of sun on the pool during the afternoon. Derek and his team were incredible. They were fast, efficient, on time and had fair pricing. They did exactly what they said they were going to do and even a little more. They helped trim some dead branches on a few neighbouring trees which was not necessary but greatly appreciated. I would highly recommend Derek to anyone. Thanks Derek.

We had a great experience with Derek's Tree Service from their response to my request, timely booking, and quality of work we were very pleased. They were very knowledgable and professional.

I'm so glad we chose Derek's for our tree removal.. Mike is awesome... Offered advice on different options for our tree that had a large branch which was hanging precariously over our neighbour's koi pond and Chinese statue. Mike even came back a second time when my husband had a few more questions. We ended up deciding to remove the entire tree, as it had suffered quite a bit of damage from the ice storm last winter.. Mike and his crew were polite, fast and efficient; the 4 of them were done in less than an hour, leaving not even one leaf or twig behind. We asked to keep the logs, and as requested they were very neatly stacked exactly where we asked them to be. Everything was very professional, very fast. I watched them working and was really impressed. Price was at par with other quotes and Mike was very knowledgeable and so much nicer to deal with (a different "10 star" company here on Homestars had emailed to say he'd call before coming, showed up a 9 days later without a phone call, and didn't even notice the pond issue) .. So glad I chose Derek's! Highly recommend!!

James of Derek's Tree service and his crew did an outstanding job. The price was reasonable, they showed up on time, cleaned up and were friendly and courteous. They made a difficult job look easy; that is because these guys are true professionals. I would not hesitate to use them again and highly recommend them to anyone else.

The work carried out by Derek and his crew exceeded our expectations. Within an hour, the crew adeptly pruned four towering trees on our property. I was concerned because of the height of these trees but clearly this did not serve a problem for these professionals. The team arrived on time and masterfully pruned the trees within a short period. When the crew was done, there was absolutely no debris/ scattered fragments to be seen. My family's experience with this company was wonderful from the outset.
