We had a sudden leak into our basement on a long holiday weekend this summer and couldn't figure out what was causing it. We had to stop using water in the kitchen - huge problem. We called Gus in to help us. He took the time to really diagnose the problem - looking all over the house to figure out the source. He realized that there used to be a bathroom just off the kitchen, and when it was removed years ago the original "plumber" failed to cap the drain properly. He told us not to worry and that he would make it right. Gus solved our problem in no time, snaked the drain removing the years of debris that was compounding the problem, and left us an easy access point in case we needed to snake again in the future.
Gus not only came in on short notice, and solved our problem quickly, but he also took the time to explain what was going on, why it happened, and how to prevent it in the future. We have been in the house for 15 years and have had plenty of contractors come and go. Gus is by far the most reliable and skilled tradesman that we've met. We've already brought him in for another job. As a homeowner, what you want is a go-to guy, and Gus is the man!

My toilet was plugged so I called city plumbing it was 1230 at night and I got Gus. I was unable to figure out how to shut the water off to the toilet and he came straight away. Price and service was exceptional I would definitely recommend and use them again.

Had a pipe burst and water damaging everything in sight. Called Gus and he never ended up showing up, despite the fact that he said he would. Had to call several times before actually speaking with him on his cell. Has also avoided other jobs in the area. Unreliable and doesn't want to seem to do anything more than work with a plunger.

I'd dealt with City Plumbing once before to get a new water service in and was really happy, so when I needed a new toilet put in, I called Gus. I couldn't be happier with the service he does. He charges a fair price, does good quick work, and is very honest and easy to deal with. He's always trying to find ways to save you money.

Gus was fantastic. He came over right away to help with a blocked kitchen sink. It turned out that the handy man who lived here before hadn't installed the pipes properly and that's why I was having so much trouble. Gus was knowledgeable, went above and beyond to uncover and solve the problem and was so considerate and friendly. I can't say enough great things! I would recommend him to everyone!

One morning in February 2016, my wife noticed one of our kitchen sinks was leaking. Upon investigation, I found out the fittings, due to age and use, was corroded with rusts causing the leak.

Initially contacted our roofing contractor friend who thought if it was a simple job he could do it himself for us. Upon seeing the plumbing fixtures underneath the sink, he told me he could not do the job as he didn't have the skills and tools to do it. However, he took pictures of the broken sink fittings and copper plumbing (with his mobile device) and after briefly speaking with Gus, sent them to the latter. Gus happened to be an old friend.

That night, I gave Gus a call as to when he could possibly come over to our place and take a look at plumbing problems. While he received the pictures from his roofing contractor friend, he would like to see the problem himself.

The following morning, before going to his scheduled job assignment, Gus dropped by our place early. After assessing the problems, he told me (who also knows a little about plumbing) that it's difficult to attached the fittings of new sinks unto the existing copper pipes without too much work and time required. Instead, he recommended to replace the existing copper pipes with customized plastic (?) pipes, which are not only economical but also easy to maintain.

After agreeing with his suggestion, he then removed the existing copper plumbing pipes and replaced them with customized plastic pipes, adaptors, connectors, pea joint, etc.

Being an old East York home (more than 60 years old), Gus had space problems to maneuver working under the sink. But with his plumbing knowledge and experience, he was able to complete the job, cleaned up, and had both sinks up and running in less than two hours, before going to his scheduled client that morning.

When informed of what Gus had done to resolve our kitchen sink problems, our roofing contractor friend was also pleased that Gus gave urgency and consideration attending to our plumbing needs. He also told me that normally it would cost me than I paid Gus which included cost of materials.

I strongly vouch, therefore, for Gus' plumbing skills, friendliness, honesty and being considerate to senior's plumbing needs.

Gus came over right away when I accidentally knocked a container of deodorant in a flushing toilet and it went in and became stuck. Gus not only was able to get the deodorant out (saving me from having to buy a new toilet) but also discovered the gasket was worn and I had a leak -- both of which could have caused big problems in the future. He worked super hard, explained and showed me everything, fixed it all right away, and charged a very reasonable rate. He also answered some other questions I had and I am going to have him back next week for another issue I'd been putting off dealing with. I highly recommend his services. He is very honest and does a great job.

Gus is honest and reliable, what else can you ask for? I've had him out twice to look at a couple of issues, and he always provides professional, honest, and straightforward advice. If you want someone who isn't going to BS you, and who does great work call Gus.

I moved into a new home and had a seized faucet in my master shower. I looked up local pumpers and Gus was the ONLY one who answered his phone. WIthin 2 hours he was at my house letting me know what the issue was, and proposed ways we could fix it which would be the most cost effective for me. His honestly, efficiency and professionalism are so much appreciated. He is very skilled and knowledgeable and has a ton of integrity. Gus is the person I will call anytime i have plumbing issues - he's a great guy!
