I had Carson Dunlop perform a home inspection for my home purchase before closing deal. I was very satisfied with the inspection as several issues were found:
- Bathroom fan venting into attic creating mold
- A few electrical receptacles not working, one ground fault and some wiring exposed (not within code).
- Several small issues with roof (eg. deteriorating shingles, caulking around flashing cracking/shrinking).
The inspector walked through all items and let me know expected life span on items such as AC unit, furnace, etc. Also provided rough costs to replace items like these, roof shingles, etc.
Everything was documented in a great home guide binder that I have referenced quite often as it is very useful.
I wouldn't buy a home without a home inspection and would readily contact Carson Dunlop again.
