Bedroom wall to wall carpet installation

It was a pleasure working with Dominic - professional, dependable, prices were reasonable and when he came to measure 3 bedrooms for carpet install, he made some excellent suggestions. The home was built in the early 60's and needed new flooring, so decided on carpet. The colour selected was perfect, it's good quality and am very happy with purchase! The installers were on time and were even able to install new baseboard on short notice. What a transformation to these bedrooms. I would definitely recommend purchasing carpet from this company. Thank you for such a positive experience. Judy (Etobicoke)

Purchased stair runner for two-story townhouse

After frustrating experiences at big box home renovation stores, I visited Carpet Warehouse to select a stair runner for my new two-story town home. I found they had a large selection with some good sale pricing. The staff were helpful and patient and took the time to price out different options for me. Would definitely return for future carpeting needs.

Vinyl Flooring in Kitchen and New Addition

Had a large area vinyl floor put into a kitchen and addition. It required a5/8" subfloor put on top of an esponite sub floor in the kitchen. The addition had good quality subflooring how ever had to also have a 5/8" subfloor ontop to match the level of the large room. In 30 years of business they never had an issue with putting good quality sub floor on top of esponite. (thats their story). They used a few screws and lots of staples on the entire area. . Initially the floor looked fantastic, but after 2 weeks, the staples used to fasten the two subfloors together began to work there way through the vinyl floor in the kitchen (the area with the esponite). Because I had esponite sub floor it was my fault that the staples would not hold into the esponite. The owner (Dominic) said I had some ownership in this so I had to pay one third the repair cost.Prior to the floor being installed they were fully aware of the esponite subfloor, yet they continued to apply the good quality subfloor on top of it. Initially I agreed to pay for the repair however did change my mind because of the following....1). I was a low priority. The repair was completed over 6 days with full disruption of my home,, they were losing money so there was no hurry and 2) In order to limit their cost for the repair, the owner did not order enough material to match the pattern in the tile, therefore the new section had to be divided into two pieces. There is a pattern that could not be followed unless the new piece of flooring was approximately 4 feet longer.
I hired this company because I was told there would be 1 seam (2 peices of flooring) in a very large room....In fact I now have 3 seams (4 pieces of flooring)...not what I paid for. They pieced two pieces of the vinyl together to finish the project. Not what I had paid for initially, and not what was told to me prior to the repair. After 30 years in the business Dominic forgot about the matching of the flooring pattern.
Carpet Warehouse had to rip out the newly installed subfloor and screw and reglue it, as they should have done in the first place.
The only poor judgemnt on my part was using this company.. Never recieved a satisfactory explanation. Contractors I have spoken to always glue and screw subfloors into the joists. Beware deleaing with Carpet Warehouse (Oakville).

Carpet townhouse for resale

The real estate agent recommended this store as we were looking to stage our townhouse for sale. The original builder carpets were not is good shape and the house needed new ones.

The sales man showed up with 4-5 sample carpets and we chose a Berber style that was neutral and gave a deposit. As we were looking to re-sell, we needed the carpets installed right away. They said there was no problem getting them installed by the end of the week.

On Wednesday, they called us up to say that the manufacturer had not yet shipped the carpet and they would not be able to install on the Friday as booked, but maybe on the Tuesday the following week. Sorry, NO, I am listing the house and need the carpet installed on the Friday as agreed. They did offer to use a different carpet that they had in stock,. I don't know if it was a better or worse carpet, but I was in the bind.

The installers came in on the Friday, and ripped out the old builders carpet and installed new ones. At first glance, they look fine, but if you get nit picky, the carpet has a pattern on it, and you can see that two of the 3 rooms, the carpet was not put in square to the walls. The pattern is not parallel to the wall, rather it's off by 5-6 degrees. Not something you'd notice right off, but once you realize it... I must be OCD.
