Capital Hardwood Flooring

I'd been looking to get our carpeting taken out, and have some hardwood put in on the 2nd floor of our house.

I was pretty time constrained, and couldn't really make time to meet with people during the day. The Capital guys met with me after hours when did have some time and gave me a quote for the job.

Quote was great - I gave them a set of keys to the house. 3 days after our first meeting I had beautiful looking hardwood installed on the 2nd floor.

It was very fast and painless, they did a great job cleaning up afterwards. The pricing was also very competitive - other quotes were more for just the materials than the entire install with Capital.

2 years later - the floor still looks great.

A hardworking team took care of everything: moving furniture and removing an ancient carpet with a grim underpad glued to the floor. We appreciated the thoroughness of this effort.

Our contact person provided expert advice on the type of flooring we wanted, including finding narrow oak to match a previously installed floor. They staggered new pieces with the old and when it was buffed and recoated with Varathane, it blended in beautifully.

A large open area of about 1400 sq. ft. (including the section previously installed with oak - app. 450 sq. ft.) has been truly transformed.

I was amazed at the job they did in my sons bedroom where the floor looked irrepairable. My floors are 50 years old and have never been refinished. They brought them back to life. And I was happy that they called me every step of the way. There were concerns about my new railing and they checked with me before they proceeded. They could have been better on the follow up where I wanted more attention to sanding details on banister which is why I am not giving them a straight 10.

Danny came highly recommended by several friends.

After several issues, the work was completed but it required Capital to come back twice to finish the work.

They did not show up the day to start the job and after trying to track them down all morning, we found out early in the afternoon that they would not be coming in until the following day.

The floor looks great but the crew left made mess of our baseboard which required us to repaint the trim of our whole house. Also, strain was splattered on several walls.

The work on the banister is not very impressive. After calling them back in twice to finish the work properly, we said good enough.

Unforunately, they we did not have the same experience as our friends.

Capital Floor removed our old flooring, secured the subfloor and installed and stained new hardwood to our specifications. Danny was a pleasure to deal with and his workers were extremely professional. All aspects of the job were well done while keeping the dust and inconvenience to a minimum. I would definitely use them again and recommend their services!
