Buyer consumer beware

This is my honest review of our experience thus far with Canadian choice windows and doors.
First, let me say that I chose this company based on reading others good reviews that they had wonderful customer service and good product.

We were originally quoted 14-18 weeks for a 13 window and patio door replacement job. That became 26 weeks time, with no communication offered by Canadian choice. Any updates we received were if we had called and requested after the quoted time had passed by several weeks.

After several delays we were called and booked for November 30th to begin install.

Soon before our install date they called and asked if they could push back by one day, so we allowed. Install date now December 1st. (Windows ordered in May)

Install went mostly smooth. Many of our existing window frames have cracking and have separated from the wall. They will require fill and paint, we can live with it as we choose to keep our existing window mouldings.

The patio doors which were also installed were done so on a slant whereas they sit 1/2 taller on the right side than the left. The trim around the doors is also 1/2 taller on the right side and is noticeably skewed. (81 vs 81.5)

After sending photos and measurements to the customer service staff, and after several iterations back-and-forth, they agreed that the patio doors would be reinstalled correctly. The repair job was schedule and on the day of the install the time slot given was 2-4 pm. With no phone calls, emails or communication the window installer showed up at my door at 7pm. Clearly with no intention to work on fixing the doors as planned and scheduled by Canadian choice. The installer instead rudely came into my home argued with me over the discrepancy and was insistent that they did not want to rectify the crooked doors.

After contacting Canadian choice once again, they sent another member of their staff to measure the doors again, and produce a report so that they can schedule the repair job. This happened two months ago and we have not heard back since.

Ive called several times at which point Ive been told that it is with scheduling and they will reach out with a date for me and they have not.

This experience has been very unsettling and unlike reviews I had read prior to selecting this company they are not leaving us happy with the install or service provided. Customer service is uninformed and could not even contact their installer when they did not show up in the scheduled time slot.

Once our job was complete, Canadian choice cashed our check the same day, however never provided any form of invoice or receipt stating that we paid in full.

We again also had to reach our to request the receipt or invoice for the $25k we spent with Canadian choice. We had to email and request a copy with proof it was paid, we were first issued a screenshot, which was not sufficient for the government grant and so we had to reach out a second time to have the official invoice sent to us.

Overall we are very dissatisfied with the lack of communication and service from Canadian choice on so many levels. Their uncoordinated repair service wasting a complete day of mine waiting for the service person to come into my home and then to argue with me, and to leave me hanging with no resolution.

I would highly recommend staying away from this company. Their products are over priced, their services are below subpar, and their communication at this point is nonexistent. I would suggest using another company as the company to replace your windows and doors.

The Sales Representative is prompt to response to any inquiry and the installers were exceptional.

We worked with Joe who was amazing from start to finish. Overall we had a lot of communication and it was really nice being able to ask him ALL our questions as we planned for our windows. The install was SO FAST...all our windows done in one day, very impressive. The cost was well below the last window company we used so we will definitely be using Canadian Choice moving forward for any windows...next we'll tackle the doors as well :)

I was very pleased with the service I received. The rep, Tony, kept me informed and explained the full service to me. His suggestions were on point and look fabulous. The installation team were exemplary. The took the time and care like they were working on there own home. The project had issues and they worked hard until all was completed. I will definitely use them for any future work.

Canadian Choice provides reliable, affordable and quality windows. We have been using them for years for our home. Stan in particular amazing. He is professional, precise and very knowledgeable. We really love our Canadian Choice windows. Thank you Stan for making it all possible.

Tony was a very knowledgeable sales person who took the time to educate me and allow me to make the right choice. Company was quick to respond on any questions. Installers were very respectful of property and home. They were very hard working. Did a great job. Windows look fantastic and I am so much warmer in the house. I no longer need to crank up the heat!

Canadian Choice Windows is a great, professional, quality company to deal with. We had 22 windows and 1 patio door replaced. I procrastinated picking a window replacement company largely because I'd read so many horror stories about window replacement gone wrong. This was definitely not the case with Canadian Choice; quite the opposite. When I eventually chose Canadian Choice it was because of 4 criteria. I. Personal connection with the sales rep. and presentation. 2. Quality of the product and features. 3. Recommendations from personal connections.
4. Price (because return on investment is important unless you are made
of money).

I can't say enough nice things about Stan Rait our sales rep. He was honest and helpful in his suggestions on the products and styles. In the end, we went with most of his suggestions. A no nonsense sales process with Stan.

The install crew of Slav and his team were top notch. They showed up on the date and time scheduled and, worked a full 12 hours the first day (yeah, can you believe that these days). All windows installed on the first day; patio door installed and window outside finishing completed on the second day. They cleaned up all their mess around the property and even cleaned the outside of the windows. Quite honestly, I've never seen a crew work so hard and fast as Slav and his team. They got to work immediately despite some horrible February weather to deal with. I can't thank them enough for doing an outstanding, quality installation. I'm so happy Slav was selected for my install. They were so courteous, polite, and aware of the disruption a job of this type was causing. It's quite emotional having your windows pulled out of your house and it being exposed to the elements in the middle of the winter. They moved quickly to get each room sealed up from the elements so that the emotional upheaval was kept to a minimum. Overall, a great experience and soooo happy we went with Canadian Choice.

I had an amazing experience getting new windows installed (6 of them!). Luca and his partner did a phenomenal job and their fun/positive attitude made it even better. They were professional and cleaned up after themselves better than I anticipated. At the end of the day when they were done Luca even fixed my front door! What an outstanding job I will definitely be using them for my future window purchase. Thanks to Mike for coming to my house to do the initial sell and information - if it wasnt for him I would still have old and inefficient windows.
