We hired Brampton Kitchens for a large order - two vanities, one mudroom built-in and one window seat built-in. We had already paid our own designers to design everything - style, colour, countertops, hardware, meaning minimal work was required for shop drawings. Our order was supposed to be completed the first week of August. It is now September 26 and I cannot get anyone at the company to return my calls.
I have called them everyday, only to be told someone will call you back soon...every single time. We have waited patiently for that to happen. But after weeks of pleading with them to finish our order now, we are just at our wit's end.
We were told we MUST provide 90% of the payment prior to delivery. Nothing was ready for us to see during our production visit. And now nobody cares that two of our bathrooms are out of order because of this including the one on the main floor. Our elderly parents (60 and 70+) have to go upstairs or downstairs to use the bathroom. As for our master - the showpiece bathroom we dreamed of has been blown to bits and we are just heartbroken. This does not seem to bother anybody at Brampton Kitchens. There are a number of other issues with the quality of the installation generally, only the main ones are highlighted below:
Powder Room Vanity - Wrong Colour, incorrect kickplate
- The vanity was specified as CC-20 (Decorator's white).
- However, the vanity that was subsequently installed at our house on August 11/12 was OC-26 (Silver Satin).
- A week later, o the installers returned with the "re-painted" vanity - but it was still the same colour, OC-26.
- They eventually installed the vanity in the correct colour but decided to give us a cheaper kickplate in a complete different design.
- They also promised us a counterop - but provided us with ONE odd-coloured slab that does that not match our bathroom...so now we don't have any counterop either.
Master Bathroom Vanity - Incorrect design, Cracked Tile during Installation
- The legs of the vanity are different than the design we submitted; -
- There is also no 1" trim piece above the legs as specified in the original drawing and in my notes subsequently.
- A white marble tile in our bathroom was cracked during the installation of this vanity and a black piece was randomly added to the bottom to hide the mistake. We now have to modify the design of our vanity to accommodate this issue.
Master Bathroom Vanity - Countertop - wrong size
The countertop has an unnecessary 3/4" overhang on the left hand side, which overlaps with an outlet. The space on either side of the two sinks is also not even. We will now have to move the outlet to accommodate the mirror. Our contractor confirmed the overhang was not necessary, as did the countertop installer and that the edges should have been move even. There will obviously be a charge for moving the outlet and finishing the wall back up again. I have already raised it with GMI and with the person who did the install but neither are willing to do anything.
Shared Bathroom Counterop - wrong material
We had asked for ceasarstone. GMI indicated that is too inexpensive and instead provided us with lucent quartz.
