It IS true, they don't call back, they don't show up, they don't follow up! Paint on the cabinets has been cracking and has been continuously cracking after replacement. Paint hasn't matched the trim or cabinet bases. CHECK THE PICTURES. We have had nothing but issues since initial install. We have had them at our house over 25 times and our neighbours are asking questions. Yet again, the paint is cracking on our newly replaced cabinet fronts and it is October 1, 2016. We paid for our deposit on this kitchen back in September of 2015.
We took our time and did our homework when it came to the selecting the company to provide and install the cabinets for our recent kitchen renovation. Brampton Kitchen Cabinets installed a kitchen for us 10 years ago when it was under the management of another gentleman. The kitchen was gorgeous and nothing was missed when it came to the attention to detail, it was impeccable.
After having our second kitchen installed with Brampton Kitchen it has been nothing but a nightmare and undue stress, stress a paying customer trusting should not have to go through. I'm not even sure where to begin but it it is now May 18 and our original kitchen install date was mid January of 2016. We selected white kitchen cabinets. We have had nothing but issues with the paint quality, the paint is cracking along the the length of the kitchen cabinets and the cabinet front were sent back at least three times to be so called "fixed". Upon the delivery of the "fixed" cabinets we received the same cabinets back (not fixed, paint still cracked) some of the cabinets were damaged and others had been painted over. The follow up with out rep was endless and we rarely received a phone call back. We had to continuously visit the store to address concerns and receiving any form of an email from the company was out of the question. I strongly recommend using another company. This is just the start of a long long story with many pictures to support the issues. It came to the point that we had to phone the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint against the company. The reviews on Homestars seem to be great so I'm extremely taken back that we have had this many issues. PLEASE search the complaints logged with the Better Business Bureau before you even consider Brampton Kitchen cabinets.
We had an incomplete kitchen for 3 and half months.
Our issues stemmed from:
1.Cracked paint on the white kitchen cabinets
2.White box frame was a yellow colour and did not match the cabinet fronts.
3. When the handles were installed they drilled them in too hard causing the inner side of the cabinet to be damaged. (We were told we had to give them some leway? I responded by saying "If we are a paying customer then I want to be the one to damage my kitchen, not the installers")
4. The trim cut did not line up along the crown molding.
5. The trim valance was installed but the under mount lights were turned on there was a bright light shining through were the valance met the upper cabinet. This had to be replaced and re-installed.
6. After the final install cabinet fronts were returned without being painted when they were originally sent back so they put the filler that use when installing the crown molding over some of the paint damage to try to cover it up. This is a band-aid fix.
7. Spice racks were installed on either side of the oven, one of the filler panels in between the spice rack and cupboard was damaged during the original install. When I asked them to replace it they put that molding filler over it and said that nobody else would notice it except for us.
I understand issues come up during install and things aren't always perfect however, this kitchen was a large investment for us and we need it to last. The cracked paint is only going to get worse and the cabinet fronts haven't even been installed for a solid two months in our home yet. What is alarming is the amount of time we were told it would be fixed and how many times (AT LEAST 8 TIMES) that the crew was at our house to take cabinets away to come back on another "install date" with some fixed, some damaged, they didnt know they supposed to do this or that. If I was running business I wouldn't waste my customers time or my own by being careless and not following up or providing a set list of outstanding items for the next install date. My heart is heavy over this and don't want others to go through the same thing. The fact of the matter is white kitchen cabinets are not Brampton Kitchen's specialty.
Please use caution when going with Brampton Kitchen. Our rep was VERY charming and reassuring EVERY TIME, so we were hopeful thinking that we were in good hands and the issues would be fixed.
Stay tuned for pictures and the body of MULTIPLE email messages I sent to the company and don't forget to check the Better Business Bureaus website in the meantime.
Quality and attention to detail have been lost with the either our rep or the new management.
