As you know we are retailers who do not provide installation services. We do provide names of independent installation companies if a customer asks. The pillars of our success in becoming the largest hardwood flooring store in Ontario over the past 30-years in business are our huge selection of in stock quality products at the lowest prices, and our first class customer service. As you can surely appreciate, with about 30,000 customers a year buying hardwood from us, our showroom can sometimes get quite hectic. Our excellent sales staff always try to do their best to deal with everyone punctually and fairly. It is not always easy for them to equally split their attention to many different customers at once who may be asking questions, paying for their purchases, picking up their products or even making returns as you were. Nonetheless, they do a great job and with a little patience, everyone is taken care of with courtesy and respect. We at Brampton Hardwood Flooring are very sorry that Sherry feels this way. As our customer's have come to know, almost everything we sell in our store is in stock in one of our two giant warehouses. We differ from our competitors as our on hand inventory is the largest in Ontario, so that in addition to the best prices our customers can also enjoy the added value of "cash and carry", which means not having to wait for their wood to be ordered and delivered to the store. To maintain this benefit for our customers, we have a large staff of warehouse employees that right after purchase will pick the order from one of our warehouses, prepare the boxes for pickup or delivery, and then move the completed order to a separate area away from the general inventory. This occurs whether the customer is picking up right away, or at a later date (to ensure that the product will not mistakenly be sold to another customer). We of course cover the cost of this service for our customers, and only ask in return that the customer does their part and ensures that the measured quantities purchased are accurate. If not, our work doubles when an order changes after being picked, prepared and set aside. When a customer makes an error in calculation and then wishes to correct it, we of course wish we were able to cover the additional expense even without any fault on our part. However, to do so would increase our overhead to the extent that we could no longer provide the same great prices and service that our business has become famous for over almost 30 years. Thus, we have no alternative but to charge a small restocking fee to cover this added expense. The restocking fee is not a surprise to our customers, as it is well publicized on signs throughout the store, on the counter of the cash-out desk and on the sales receipt. We always try to do all we can to accommodate all of our customers, including Sherry. We hope she can understand our position and we wish her all the best.
