My husband and I purchased a sofa set from Bad Boy Whitby location and regret ever deciding to do so. Once you purchase furniture from them, they do NOT stand behind the quality of their products. The sales rep highly recommended we purchase the set we did and going on his recommendation, we decided to buy the set we recommended. Biggest mistake ever! After only TWO months of having the set, we noticed the love seatbegan cracking and ripping. We had to send it back for repairs only two months from purchase! Unacceptable. But this was only a sign of what was to come. Slowly over the months, it began cracking and tearing in multiple locations on both sofa and love seat. In the summer of 2014, my family endured a health scare, so because we were caught up dealing with our health crisis, we were unable to deal with the sofa issues.
When I finally had a moment at end of November, I contacted Bad boy and explained the situation and told them that their is obviously a quality issue with the set I bought and they probably shouldn't even be selling this quality of furniture in their store to begin with, a the set is ripping and tearing all over the place!
I was abruptly told by the rude customer service reps at head office that since my manufacturers warranty ended in September, that I was out of luck. When I explained that the damage was their from months ago, while still under warranty, but I was up dealing with a family crisis, which is why I wasn't able to call then, they rudely explained to me that it's not their problem and I should have bought the extended warranty.
I explained to the rep that first of all I was never offered an extended warranty and furthermore, this is an issue that extends beyond warranty as it stands to the quality of the products being sold!! Their is obviously a problem with the material used to make this set, otherwise why would it show damage only two months after having it home?? And then crack and rip all over the place! Even a sweater lasts longer than this, let alone a sofa set that one spends a thousand dollars for!
The condition of my sofa set looks like it has been around for ten years, but we've only had it for a little over a year!! I would understand if a small area tore but this is both sofas cracking all over the place! Why would Bad boy even be selling a product like this??
I am disgusted and very disappointed at the quality of their merchandise and the customer service team that deals with complaints are very rude and disrespectful.
I have left a message to have a manager return my call to try and find a resolution, but so far have not heard back.
If I do not get anywhere with management, I will be contacting a lawyer and CTV news and my local newspapers to tell them my story.
Very dissapointed Bad Boy. Shame on you for selling this quality of product in the first place and then not even attempting to work with your customers to find a resolution after they were conned into purchasing such a piece of junk from your store. Shame on you.
