Ashton Renovations

We are very pleased with the complete renovation of our main floor powder room. Mark and his team were professional, polite, showed good attention to detail, and ensured that the renovation site was contained. We are very happy with Mark's guidance on the overall design, choice of floor tiles, vanity, and accessories.

I wish I’d known about Ashton Renovations before I hired another contractor after a flood in my condo. Ashton came in and finished the work left incomplete by the contractor I hired. It was small work relatively, but they did the work I couldn’t. The attention to detail is what you want in a contractor — Ashton finished work left undone and corrected work left as complete by the other contractor. I highly recommend them, and look forward to working with them again for a move in the future.

Quality work and finishes were done throughout the basement and special care was taken to address minute design and construction details to ensure a professional look. The various trades that worked on the renovation were all friendly and professional as well, and they were conscientious in keeping the renovation site tidy. Communication was also good with updates provided on a weekly basis, which facilitated a successful project outcome.

I had to give this review a lot of thought because my renovation did take longer and costs went over what I had planned to spend. However when I really thought about I think Mark delivered most of my expectations.
I have done many other renovations with a variety of different contractors. I would say that Mark Ashton is way above average when it comes to taking my calls and getting back to me. He also has a sense of honesty, responsibility and integrity which is refreshing.
On the not as positive I would have liked to have seen more supervision and coordination of the trades. Sometimes I did not realize a trade or material delivery was coming. Mark does use a good construction management program but I could not get it to alert me when he was scheduling a trade or delivery. I also would have preferred a few more site visits by him or one of his staff to ensure better continuity. Trades also sometimes had questions which I think they should have already known from Mark.
I take some responsibility for some of these issues because I was busy during this time and it probably would have gone smoother if I was always there to supervise.
Overall I would strongly recommend Ashton Renovations for their value and integrity.
All renovations have unexpected surprises and highs and lows but unlike some contractors, Mark Ashton will always communicate with you and not leave you high and dry.

Choosing Ashton Renovations was the best decision we made! Mark and his team took care of everything, they were very easy to work with, offered great ideas and gave us great advice. From start to finish they were very professional and very clean. We loved the process, Ashton Renovations even had a Project Management App that allowed us to stay on top of the little details. The quality of work for electrical, dry walling and painting was well done. They also cleaned up when job was finished. Mark was always available for consultation if required and listened and made recommendations when we came across unplanned obstacles. Was a pleasure to work with him

Ashton Renovations removed the existing bathroom fixtures and drywall, reversed the position of the bath, replaced the fixtures, installed underfloor heating and completed painting and tiling. They kept the impact on the rest of the house to a minimum, keeping things clean and tidy. They were respectful of the house and out family when coming and going which was very important to us with a young child in the house. We are pleased with the quality of the tub, vanity, toilet and sink they installed and the underfloor heating has made a big difference in the room.
There was a miscommunication regarding target completion dates which led to a time crunch with some of the final aspects and some touch-ups were required, but overall we are happy with our new bathroom and it is a significant improvement on the old one.

This is my second project with Ashton Renovations. I live in a two story condo and for this project had the bathroom and laundry room done. Both rooms were completely gutted to the concrete. I chose porcelain tile for the floors and tub surround. The tilers did an excellent job. It is very satisfying to see the tiles all lined up perfectly. Mark sent me to Domenic at Taps who was excellent and helped me pick out a tub, toilet, faucets etc. I am happy with the fixtures and got what I wanted at a reasonable price. Mark uses top tradespeople who are professional, polite and good at their jobs. I am not experienced with home renovations so I rely on Mark to steer me in the right direction when it comes to products and finishes to select. He is a good resource and I am very satisfied with the project. I would recommend Ashton Renovations and in fact, have recommended his company to relatives who used him for their kitchen reno.
