After direct communication with the owner of Arrow Heating the issue was resolved.
The approximate cost indicated was not the cost of the repair but the initial cost of the a/c unit and its installation.
Crap A/C Unit & Bad Service
Nine months after installing a brand new $5000 A/C unit, we had to call for service when it stopped working. The serviceman claimed that the frozen pipes were due to an old filter - not true. We had to pay $160 for the service call even though we had paid for their annual serice plan, $250.
Three months later, a week after the warranty ends on the new unit, the same problem occurs. Now they tell us its a faulty core - a factory problem - and that we have to pay for a new core, labour, and gas reclamation. This should easily put over $1200. If their serviceman did their job at the none month problem this would've been covered. But they betrayed our trust or were plenty incompotent to scam us out of the warranty.
The funny thing is that the new A/C unit replaced a 20+ year old unit with the same problem. Arrow reccommended we replace the old unit because it would be cheaper in the long run - I guess not.
