I own and manage commercial property in Victoria, BC.

In 2011 I became involved in assisting my son selling a house in Surrey, BC. The reason I became involved is because the house suffered from deficiencies that would inhibit the sale of the house. One of the major deficiencies was the house roof venting system was not designed to effectively remove moisture from the area between the ceiling and the roof which resulted in an environmental problem. In addition there were other deficiencies in the house that needed to be addressed.
As the roof ventilation was a major concern, through a reference, I contacted Abney Roofing and sent over the building reports. I received a phone call from the owner to discuss, and agree upon, the scope of work and approach. During the discussion the owner provided a number of excellent ideas which were utilized in the repairs. His employees showed up at the times they stated they would arrive, undertook the work as indicated and if there were any unusual circumstances/problems I was contacted, presented with suggested solution(s) and a course of action was agreed upon.
The job, like a number of jobs of this type are, was difficult however they completed it to an excellent standard at a reasonable price.
I learned through the first job that the company name "Abney Roofing" does not accurately indicate the scope of services available. Abney Roofing can undertake almost any type of construction project as they have, either on staff, or through their subcontractors, ticketed journeymen/women licensed to carry out most renovation/construction jobs.

In 2016 my wife and I purchased a house in Surrey. The house required some renovations. Based on my previous experience in the Surrey market I contacted Abney Roofing. They priced the job , presented the quote and we engaged them to undertake the work. Again, similar to our first job with them, the owner provided a number of excellent ideas which were utilized in the renovations. The job was managed by one of their superintendents, Willem who did an excellent job. His sub-contractors showed up at the times they stated they would arrive, or if unable to arrive on time, would contact us in advance and advise of the change and reschedule , undertook the work and if there were any unusual circumstances/problems I was contacted, presented with suggested solution(s) and a course of action was agreed upon.
This job, like a number of minor renovation jobs of this type, required scheduling of various crews (painting, carpet, electrical, etc.) , however again they completed the job to an excellent standard, within scope, schedule and budget. Of note, the workers were particularly cognizant of keeping the mess contained within the work area.

We have had one callback - a new baseboard electrical heater failed in this cold winter of January 2017. I emailed Abney Roofing's Office at 10:00 am and the electrician arrived at the house at approximately 2:00 pm (the same day, during a bitter cold snap !!!), and replaced the defective thermostat.

Service as provided by Abney Roofing, in each occasion we have used them, is very hard to find. We would have no hesitation in recommending them for any type of construction job they state they can handle.
