Moving 2 bedroom condo across GTA
I found this company through home starts. We moved from Mississauga to Scarborough, 2 bedroom condo to slightly larger 2 bedroom condo. I took their advice and hired 4 movers for my move and it went very smooth. All 4 movers were very professioinal, careful, and polite. They took care of our belongings and the walls and floors. They were very respectful and treated us very well. They told me that the supervisor is actually a fireman. The other 3 movers are students on their way to become firemen. They were all great. We are very happy with their service. I am bad with names and the move was in mid July, but I believe their supervisor's name was Cody. Great guy. The only part that could use improvement is the administrative office. Most people won't care about the contract, but I read it and I asked for some corrections. I don't know was it too busy or what. I couldn't get Janis to update my concerns in the contract. After about 2-3 weeks and many e-mails and a couple of phone calls from me, a couple of items still remained incorrect, including the fee for extra insurance. If I didn't know better, I would say they were ignored. At the end, the movers had to call Janis's cellphone to confirm the correct fee for the extra insurace but thanks to the movers, it didn't delay us and went smooth. They found her and took care of the bill on the spot. They take credit cards on the spot which is very convenient. Also, they recommend you to take X number of movers and give you a choice unlike other moving companies. I took their suggestion to get 4 movers and my move finished by mid afternoon instead of the evening, so I didn't really pay more. All in all great experience. I recommend these guys to everyone.
- Approximate cost of services:
- $2,000.00
- What could this company do to improve their services?
- Administrative / office can use improvements
- Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
- If they give you a choice, condiser hiring more movers so the move goes much faster. In the end, you pay less number of hours so it's not necessarily going to cost you more. In my case, I got 4 movers, not 3. The cost per hour was a little more but at the end it worked out to be the same as hiring 3 movers. The job was finished mid afternoon so we had time to open boxes. Besides, when the movers get extra tired, your furniture will not be handled as carefully, naturally.
- Company Response
Thank you for taking the time to pass along your kind words about your move. Cody was in fact your Crew Chief; he and his team were very happy to work with you. Thank you as well for your feedback regarding operations - with this we will work towards making things run more efficiently as we move forward.
Thanks again! All the best in your new home.
