Mattamy homes alton village burlington
Upon moving into our new mattamy builf condo like any condo were were asked to submit 4 cheques as rent during our interm occupancy. According to mattamys run down property taxes were $200 pet month along with mat fees and interest owing on the remainder of the unit minus down payment. So everything is fine and dandy, untill a year and a half later when the city of burlington finally assess our property and send us a bill for taxes which is normal. Than i notice were are getting billed during the months of interm occupancy which i found strange considering we didnt own the unit during those months and we paid mattamy harris schifer already that money as stated in their rent rundown cost. Ripoff or scam? Id actually call it unetical business with a slight splash of scam and a table spoon of ripoff. I spoke to danielle from customer care ( ironic they name a department customer care, when the word care isnt in mattamys vocab) and was pretty much told that yes it was unfair but they cant do anything about it. Matramy homes is the defination of a greedy home builder without ethics and morals. From speaking to guys that they sub contract, thr homes they build are the worst available on the market with the lowest grade materials available just barely pasding legal limits. Their are plenty of good homebuilders around such as fernbrook, brantheaven, emery, and losani so choose wisely. This my opinion and everyone is entitled to share their experiences both good and bad, unfortunately i learned this the hard way when i bought from mattamy. Funny thing is they pride them selfs on service yet from my experience and from reading others, you can get better service buying a $5 big mac from a person with little english speaking abilities.
