Ali was very friendly and quick to visit and inspect our problem with 3 outdoor GFCI outlets that were not functioning correctly. Embarassing for me was that they merely needed only to be reset. I had tried to reset them several times prior and never had any success. Ali was honest and said there was nothing wrong with the outlets and didn't need to be replaced. If he had said I needed to replace them I would have believed him and been out more money, so I appreciate this level of service and honest. This tells me that Ali and his team are to be trusted and I look forward to hiring him again in the future

We had been debating replacing our old garage door opener for some time. The button was broken, remote worked intermittently and the keypad never worked. We then left our lone remote inside a rental car and I decided it was time ti just part ways with our system all together. I put in a request on homestars and within minutes heard back from Nick at Royal Garage Doors. He made me a fair quote over the phone and when I asked him to send it to me he quickly typed it up. I received another quote from another vendor and when I shared it with Nick he was quick to match it. I booked happily. He then booked me in for the next next day (less than 24 hours from me submitting my request). Nick showed up the next day early for our appointment and once I let him in he went right to work. Taking down the old unit and even offering to dispose of it for me, before installing our great new wifi enabled unit. Where Nick really set himself apart was in the little things and attention to details. He noticed my spring was not doing its job and quickly went about tightening it and advising me on what to look for in the event that this older spring might break. He also gave the whole system a quick tune up by lubricating the tracks and hinges before tidying up the work space and leaving the garage in broom swept condition. Fair price. Fast turn around time. Good customer service and attention to the detail. Wow. If my garage door ever fails Im only calling Nick and Royal garage doors.

After receiving many outlandish quotes for our very small job without a proper visit, Aluminum Masters came out saw the job and gave one of the most reasonable quotes of anyone who we spoke with. I failed to reply to the quote and they respectfully followed up and asked if it was still of interest. It was but with two kids the job had gone out of my mind. We coordinated an installation date here on the site via direct messaging. They arrived as promised, on time and ready to work. The job took less than two hours and the finished product was professional and appears to work perfectly. A nice touch was there was no evidence they had been here as they left the job site as clean as they found it. Thanks to the team for a great job. Look forward to working with them more in the future.

My wife and I cannot say enough good things about Dale and the Wolfhound team, truly. They are friendly, cordial, and on time on site everyday at 7 am when working here and always leave a clean work site before leaving at the end of the day. We had been trying to get our renovation off the ground for a year and went through 2 contractors and about 10 interviews before meeting Dale. Before him we were definitely losing faith that we'd ever be able to get this done and our "forever home" dream was going to die. Right off the bat, the thing that is apparent about Dale is that he treated this project and our home as if it were his own, it was very personal for him. The level of care and consideration he had for us throughout as well as being accommodating to a few circumstances we put in front of him (we decided to live in the basement while the renos were going on above us to save a few dollars) has made this process far easier and as stress free as possible - I think we can agree no renovation is "stress free" but having someone who recognizes this and is empathetic to that point, decreases that stress tenfold. From day one he referred to the project as "a partnership" and we've felt like partners working toward the same goal throughout. It was never once a Dale vs Us situation, even the most uncomfortable conversations were easily and calmly discussed over a beer, pizza or cup of tea (Dales favourite). Another thing we have to say about Dale, which we didn't find with anyone else was his honesty. Everyone we met tried to 'win' the business by telling us this was an 8-week job open and shut. Dale came into our initial meeting and said "look I can tell you 8 weeks like everyone else to try and win your business but I'd rather be realistic and honest with you and then we're on the same page and if we come in early everyone is happy". At the initial meeting Dale said to us to expect 5-6 months total timeline for the project but he would aim to get it done sooner if possible. Due to a few hangups around appliances, finishing materials delayed by COVID and sub trade errors that we brought in on our own, the job took right to the max time frame, but barring those delays from our end we would have likely been done sooner. Regarding budget, we ended up pushing about $20-30k over our initial planned budget with all of that being from adjustments and upgrades my wife and I made along the way, not under estimations from Dale - he was truly right on the money (pun intended) the whole way through. Any of the "budget breakers" that came up along the way were typically averted in the most economical way. Also, regarding his budget planning, in the grand scheme of quotes we received he came in about $30k cheaper than the next closest quote and $150k cheaper than the most ridiculous quote we received (which included $2000 toilets haha). So we've really felt like he understands the true costs of materials and labour. No one believes a review that is 100% glowing and we know those are few and far between so, the only area that we felt needed some improvement was communication and keeping us in the loop in the earlier phases of the project. We had email and text message conversations, but Dale is a hands on business owner and his focus is providing the best product/end result, that sometimes came at the sacrifice of clear communication and missed messages in our correspondence we were looking for a response on. Dale is the first to admit this and after discussions on the matter he did make significant strides to ensure we had regular meetings and check ins.

This was the first job I ever booked through Homestars and as ambassadors for the site, Potlight Expert has won me over. Hossein was great at following up with me, and his promotional pricing blew all other quotes I received out of the water. We were looking for 12-15 pot lights, and have 3 pendant lamps installed above our island. Once Hossein came by on installation day to speck out the job he made some sound recommendations about other lights that if not converted from standard ceiling lights to pot lights might look off. I hadn't considered it but once he made the suggestion I couldn't unsee it. He was never pushy or gave me a hard sell but made recommendations as if this was his own home, which I both respected and appreciated. The shock of his low price was the first of two. The second shock being that he said the job would take him about 2 hours. WHAT? But he wasn't kidding, he was eerily accurate with his price and execution estimates. Hossein arrived with his team of 3 on time, they respectfully waited outside until he and I had done a walk through and finalizing details. Watching them begin to work was like watching a symphony orchestra play a movement OR watching a team of Navy Seals install electrical. Working as a team they moved furniture, covered everything with runners, tarps and plastic, marked, cut, ran wire, installed lights, and then CLEANED UP! The team are true professionals, Hossein is a super nice guy, and has your best interest at heart throughout the job. I'm hoping every other person I hire from homestars is as good as Potlight Expert.
