Bob jumped to the pump in terms of helping us with a leak that developed between our top-floor condo and the unit below. We had to enter the suite below to work on the drainage issue: within 24 hours all was fixed and cleaned up including replacing the roof panel in the suite below. Big work, small fee, great guy to share with and learn from. Thank you Bob!
Paint condo, remove pony wall, finishing carpentry
On a rental condo of ours, we wanted to complete some finishing detail work including removing a pony wall (open the place up), replace all millwork (more modern style flat baseboards/door frames), install some reclaimed wall panels as doors (funky style) put a natural oak veneer finish around some of the roof beams to make it feel "loft-like") and re-paint the suite. AMAZING work - all was completed within about 2 weeks (15 days) and budgeting included everything between painting a 900-sq ft condo with doors and baseboards, all work described and cleanup to boot. I will continue to work with this team on every project that I do.
Installing garage door, balcony man-door
Solid finished product. Their ability to work around the supplier not providing us with the pieces we needed was difficult but Chris and his father made things work professionally and with good skill. They are finishing carpenters by trade and as we continue to develop this home we will be sure to use their skills to build some cabinetry and perhaps tables as the time comes.
Mould abatement, air scrubbing, environmental reclamation
This team usually does commercial work and my project was residential. I didn't have a good experience with this team. Lack of clear communication and problems with timing, problems with budgeting were main issues experienced. At the end of the day, a 90-day contract took almost seven months to complete and although I hope to never have to go through the same process again on any project, if I did, I will search for other service providers.
I was one of the contractors that worked on this house and mold was the least of the problem. This house is located in the community of Sherwood and was at the time, a condemned marijuana grow op, and a very large one at that. Not only were holes cut through the foundation wall but also through the floor going from the basement straight up into the attic. This house was never busted while in operation. It was only after the growers moved on and left the house abandoned and damaged and the rent checks stopped coming in did the owner finally clue in that something was wrong. The project took longer than expected due to unforeseen circumstances that has nothing to do with Disaster Services Calgary. The house was subsequently condemned by the city and the Alberta Health Services and Disaster Services Calgary successfully restored it.
Well worth the wait! Ali is a perfectionist. I understand that he and his team work with several large homebuilders in the Calgary area year-round and it was a bit of a logistical issue getting the timing set up with them to work on my home but their work is second to none. Their expertise shines from lacquering every railing and baseboard in the home, spraying the ceilings, rolling out the basement and garage floors to the fine detail work around edging and fixing holes in walls. I have used his team's services several times and continue to do so because of the excellent service, great pricing and amazing finished product.
