To be totally honest we have serviced our 15+ year garage door and opener with "emergency service calls" (with mixed results).. we FINALLY decided to replace for the upcoming winter storm season - we wanted to make an informed decision; and do it "right" with the best value products and an expert installation for the long-term. We are so glad to have found Comfort Garage & Doors Inc... A BIG THANK YOU to Sofen and Roman for our new garage door. It is so quiet and smooth we have to "shoulder-check" before backing out of the garage now! After contacting Sofen -- we were pleasantly surprised with the super quick lead time and very competitive prices for the model of door and opener we chose -- we really appreciated that Sofen took the time to answer all our questions about the model of door and opener etc. On HomeStars/FB their consistently great reviews speak for themselves. We even found other construction companies raving about Comfort Garage Doors - which is a great sign and they have a youtube channel where you can tell that Comfort Garage Doors is dedicated to giving their customers the very best information about garage doors. The only thing we can add is that Sofen and Roman are also super nice to deal with (were very careful and friendly to my family and kids which was an added plus!)

We found Yura and Adequate Solutions from Homestars. We had Yura clean our gutters, as well as our roof. We appreciated that he was prompt to reply and worked with our busy schedule to give us an estimate very quickly. The work was subsequently done as soon as he was able to – and it was evident that he worked hard to leave our gutters clean inside and out. Morever, we were happily surprised to receive emails with detailed before and after pictures of our gutters and roof the very next day. I think we would be hard-pressed to find this kind of service anywhere else (especially larger companies). It is very re-assuring and informational for a homeowner to get detailed pictures of areas (such as the roof) that we normally can’t see ourselves <some of these pictures are attached to the review> Cleaning of the roof and gutters was done carefully and without pressure washers that can be known to damage roof tiles. We were very happy with Yura’s work that we also had him investigate some problem areas (a gutter connection point) and to make proactive improvements to our gutter system to prevent gutter staining in the future and to better direct water flow (builders often save costs by letting downpipes empty directly on the roof leading to accelerated erosion rather than adding additional runs to bring the water directly to the gutter). Again, all of this work was performed promptly and with email picture follow-ups which was awesome. As busy working parents with kids – we appreciated Yura’s responsive communications by email, and that payments could be made electronically with the latest “no fuss” methods like e-transfer – as supported by the major banks. We will no doubt be using Yura regularly in the future!

<p>We first met Richard back in 2008 when we had his team update our home's exterior with lots of paint (incl. trim) back in 2008. Richard and his crew were always on time, clean, professional and thorough. At the same time -- his crew was also refreshingly courteous, friendly, and very easy to talk to and get along with. It's like having best friends do the painting! They always took the time to genuinely listen to all of our requests and worked with us to make sure we were happy with everything. We wanted a specific colour and theme and Richard's team worked with us to make it all work out. We even followed up with his suggestion to stain rather than paint our oak front doors and everything turned out fantastic. When we sold our house three years later -- the paint job still looked brand new and we believe it was one of the key factors to our house having such a quick and successful sale.</p> <p>When we moved into a new home in 2011, our thoughts turned back to Lions Gate. Richard met with us and eased our concerns about painting over some stronger colors chosen by previous owners. We had no hesitation having Richard repaint almost 9 interior rooms for us and everything turned out perfect for a great price. At the time, we needed an electrician to do some electrical upgrades which unfortunately involved cutting up the walls and trim of our new place. Richard was there to help us patch and paint all the aftermath which was a big relief. Moving to a new home can be hectic and stressful, but Lions Gate painting was by far the most stressless and worry-free part of our move!</p> <p>We are repeat customers and great fans of Lions Gate Painting -- Richard and his team are great and a pleasure to work with. Straightforward, efficient service. Can't speak for larger installations, but we had a small garden shed (whose roof was leaking) so we needed somebody to do a small simple re-roof quickly and efficiently. We phoned larger companies but they seemed to have minimum charges to come and estimate and wouldn't take our small job. Taves was able to come by on a weekend (which most companies don't) and were friendly, fast, and efficient. Drop cloths were placed to collect old roof pieces and nails, and the crew worked quickly and efficiently once here, adding a roof vent for our shed in the process.

Name says it all. Simple, down-to-earth prices and service. We cleaned out our garden shed recently and had lots of assorted rubbish to get rid of. 1. We found "Affordable Rubbish Removal" via HomeStars and phoned Charlie. He was straightforward and easygoing over the phone and willing to come by on a Saturday. 2. We researched some of the other "more established" garbage collection agencies (whom we've used before.) and knew we'd probably pay 2-3x more. 3. We decided to go with Affordable Rubbish Removal. 4. Transaction was surprisingly relaxed, simple and straightforward -- Charlie showed up with his truck, he was friendly, and picked up our stuff quickly, efficiently, and with a smile. NOTE: If you do have ALOT of heavy items -- you might want to check with the larger companies for more manpower. But if you're just looking for straightforward junk pickup (nothing to back-breaking) and are tired of the higher prices larger companies charge, Charlie's your man. NOTE: Anyone wanting to have rubbish picked up -- our experience is that if you have the time to collect your rubbish together into one spot ahead of time, it will usually get you a cheaper price -- especially if you can set all your stuff out on a tarp, etc. so that it is easily accessible to whatever truck the company brings by. It saves the pickup service's time once they are there -- and usually nets you a lower price.

Researched other popular and perhaps better known companies before settling with 604-Rubbish. Felt that the price point, pickup options, and booking process was more flexible, and friendly than others. The workers arrived in uniform and were prompt, courteous and performed the service in a straightforward manner with no surprises. Overall thumbs up!
