Sphen was a dream to work with. He was recommended by the framer. He was extremely accommodating and always respectful of our house, and the disruption to our family. After dealing with previous taper and drywall person, we were not looking forward to this part of our project, but Sphen. His work is impeccably neat, and done with precision. He did the drywall, taping, painting, casing and baseboard installation. He installed new drywall after the creation of an open concept. The ceiling was partially removed to install a beam, he evened out the ceiling to 'perfection' - exactly how we imagined it. The overall finished product is exactly what we were looking for, flawless. Sphen is approachable, friendly and very easy to work with. He shares his professional opinion, whenever a request is not in the project's/customer's best interest - his opinion is shared, respectfully. He even identified and corrected prior subpar drywall and taping work. We are so happy with Sphen, we will be contracting him to 'finish' our laundry room. I highly recommend Sphen, he is knowledgeable, easy to work, highly skilled in his craft and very accommodating. It was a pleasure working with Sphen, especially seeing all our project timelines were met.

I found Leuri through reviews on Homestars. He removed our load bearing wall, and replaced it with a beam (to create an open concept - living room, dinner room and kitchen now one space) . He was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. His knowledge was evident when dealing with the city inspector. The project was completed on time, within the agreed cost (no surprises). He was very prompt in responding to all my queries, whether through emails or phone calls. Some changes had to be made to the structural engineer drawings, and Leuri voluntarily took the lead to work with the engineer, ensuring all the revisions were made in time for the inspection. Working with Leuri gave us peace of mind, and provided an amazing open concept. I highly recommend him for any framing, or similar projects you maybe considering. He is knowledgeable, professional, personable and very easy to work with.

We needed a structural engineer to produce a solution to remove load bearing walls, and create an open concept (kitchen, living and dining room). Through various reviews on Homestar we were directed to YCL, Yu. On the initial 'information gathering' phone call, he provided us with a comprehensive overview of the process to obtain drawings for a building permit. Of all the 'information gathering' calls we made, he was the most generous with information. When we decided to go with him, a few weeks later, someone was sent to do the initial measuring. We then communicated back and forth, until the final drawings were produced. We submitted the drawings to the City, and was granted the Permit requested with no issues. I will recommend Yu and his team, at YCL, to anyone who needs the services that he offers. He was cost effective, prompt in all communication, accessible and informative.
