I have the carpet of my home changed recently with carpet from Dream Carpet. The reason I went with Dream Carpet was because the recommendation of our builder friend. I figure if this is the place where contractors & builders go what can go wrong. The initial shopping experience was not bad. Although they didn't have the product we wanted, it has to be special ordered. The price seemed reasonable, and I elected to have the carpet company's installer installing it instead of my general contractor, figuring since they are carpet specialized, they should ought to do a better job. Well, the installation was not a pleasant experience. First of all, the sales person promise me he would sent the best carpet installer he has to my job site, if this is the best installer, I can't even imagine what the rest of the installer would be like. The main problem was the work attitude of the installer. They sort left the job unfinished. When the carpet was installed, they didn't clean up the job site, when I complaint, they said that's their normal practice, even though from my personal experience from dealing with other carpet company, I know this is not true. What's more was the installer did not do a good job on our stairs. There were spots where he clearly did not strech the carpet tight enough. When I called to have the issue dealt with, the sales were not willing to deal with the complaint, actually saying I am a picky customer. The sales person actually make me feel guilty that it was my fault for being picky. In the end he promise to send worker back to fix the problem. The I have yet to see them show up.
Basically I would not recommend having Dream Carpet install your carpet for you. Their carpet might be okay if you know what you are buying, but the installer certainly does not have the professionalism to do the job right.
