Contracted Grace Roofing and Sheet metal to replace the roof on our two story home in South Ottawa in approximately 2008. Shortly after the contractor was finished we experienced a rainy day and the roof leaked extensively between the garage and the house. Water was running down both inside walls. Repeated calls to the contractor brought only assurances that he would be over the next day to investigate which never happened. I eventually went onto the roof and caulked along the flashing and extended an eavestrough spout which fixed the symptom but not necessarily the problem. Now in 2011, we have experienced a windstorm where myself and a neighbour across the street, who also used this contractor, had shingles blow off. Upon inspection and replacement of those shingles I discover that the paid for underlay over the whole roof was not installed and my shingles were installed on bare wood. I also paid for ice shield around the bottom of the roof but I have not inspected to ensure that was installed. Incidentally my niehbour did have underlay installed on his roof. With this contractor you really get what you pay for.
