Love Summers and Smith! Water heater broke during a heat advisory/everyone-needs-to-have-an-air-conditioner-right-now. I called 9 different plumbers/places, and no one returned the call. I called S & S to asked for a recommendation. I did not know they also did water heaters, or I would have called them first! They had someone out within 3 hours to check to see if the water heater could be repaired. It could not, so right on the spot, Sam called into the office to schedule an installation appointment and then contacted the sales department with the details. Kevin in sales took the details, gave us the pros and cons of going to on-demand hot water, prices, etc., and then got back us 2 hours later to follow up, placed the order and got us set us up confirmed with a time and day. The office staff, always so friendly and efficient, managed to wiggle us a space to get the install done. This was a feat of no small proportion given that anywhere installing a/c is fully booked at this time, leaving no room for water heaters installations. Installers arrive promptly at appointed day and time, laid out protective rugs on floors and stairs, and did a clean and quick install. Total cost (given above) was under-estimate given the efficiency of the installers. BTW, they were very polite and friendly, left my clean furnace room and floors immaculate, took time after calling in the job complete to explain the difference in care and maintenance of the new heater. There was no inappropriate language when they struggled to get the old water heater up the stairs (they took away for disposal, included in cost). Just patiently worked their way up the stairs. Even though we drained the water heater annually as per instructions, and had left it to drain (and left a few hot taps open to help) until we to empty it, the drain plug had become clogged, leaving it half full with a drain this time could not be unclogged. We have used Summers and Smith for at 20 years to maintain our furnace (and replace) and always been very happy with them. Calls are answered promptly with friendly voices, and messages are returned quickly (even on the coldest nights at 3 a.m. when furnace stopped working, which they came out at no charge to fix). We like that their staff are paid hourly, and they do not contract out. The emphasis is on getting the job done efficiently but correctly, rather than just as fast as they can get out of there. The price is a little more, but we are paying for reliable, warrantied service. We have been called when there is a recall, a problem has been noted that might come up under warranty, or during the annual clean he technicians have caught problems and set them right before they become a major expense. We had searched for quite a while to find the right person to do a reno on our 35-year-old original family bathroom but could not find anyone to take on what they considered to be a “small” job. An acquaintance recommended Greg after he had his bathroom and deck done. As others have said, Shelli replied promptly. Greg arranged to come over to give an estimate the next day – Sunday. The result is that we LOVE our new bathroom. We paid 50% down, and as Greg picked up supplies, he provided the receipts, and we would reimburse him. The price listed for the review includes everything, including the purchaes we made. We had bought a vanity a year ago and had a particular design in mind. Greg came to take measurements and to look at our tile samples. He has a good eye for colour and design, and after looking at the tiles, he made some suggestions. We considered the ideas and then went back out to another look. We came back with new tiles and were much happier. We found some unique tiles for the floor leading us to an East Coast versus the Barn look (as in “you boys are not living in a barn! A common phrase in our home) we thought we would do. The teens, Gen Y and Z are happy as we are with the functionality as well as the great look, and we all love the fun floor. As the bathroom unfolded, I had many questions, and Greg answered all of them. Shelli and Greg both want you to be happy, and they both work hard to give you what you want. To sum up, he removed the old bathtub, vanity, and floors, and then insulated the walls of the tub for sound. Now when someone gets up at 5 a.m. and showers before work, the people sleeping in the bedroom on the other side of the adjoining wall are no longer disturbed at all. Greg built the new shower from the ground up, including a completely new built the new shower from the ground up, including a completely new plumbing system for the rainfall shower, wand and toe tester faucet, and shut-off valves in the back of the adjacent linen cupboard. We love the ½ wall tiling all the way around the bathroom. He installed the vanity, shower doors and safety bars and re-installed the toilet. We are so happy we did not want to wait to post this, even though Covid-19 has delayed the finishing a final detail. We hope he will be available to come back to work on the master bath and a project when we are ready!

When we reno'd our bathroom, the topic that took up more time than any other was mirror(s). Finally came up with an idea, and called my usual window place. They wouldn't touch the mirrors we had, but recomened Bradford Glass. John answered the phone and all my questions. I took the problem up to him, and he made some excellent recommedation, came up with an idea that I had not thought of and explained various ways to do what I wanted. In less than 20 min. I was back out the door with a custom cut mirror ready to frame, and a window frame with a mirror in it that will look fabluous for a more than fair price. Instructions on how to finish them at home (as we wanted to do) were very clear. We couldn't be happier. Next time we will call first, rather than spending (no kidding) months disagreeing with each other on the best thing to do.

We can’t say enough about Stardust Canada. Stardust was recommended by a friend who is very particular, and we were not disappointed. Stephanie is an efficient, meticulous, and detail oriented professional, who was also flexible enough to deal with our design changes that resulted as of the work by the other contractors finished. Repairing a stain over and over again resulted in us removing the popcorn ceiling in our 2800 sq. ft. home, resulted in us adding in crown moulding, ceilings, needing to be primed and painted, as well as all the existing trim and walls. Stephanie came to give a detailed estimate, and helped us narrow down our colour scheme. When I still waffled, she looked at samples of colours of items that would be going back into the rooms, and made recommendations that were bang on. We were also delighted that, when asked, she was had a great idea to freshen up the look of the foyer and hall. Although we could not visualize the effect, our trust was that everything would come out perfect, and every time we were not disappointed. The rooms look fabulous, and our guests since have commented on the professional looking finish of our home! She offered to pack everything up each night to take with her, but given how tidy she was, we had no problem with her leaving everything here during the 2 weeks she was here. Stephanie let us know when she was arriving and leaving each day on the days even on the days, we were home and she was kind enough to bring in Christmas deliveries and secure them for us. She worked hard the entire time she was here each day, and feel that she exceeds Stardust’s high stands. This company certainly delivers platinum service, and we have absolutely no reservations in recommending Stardust, and will definitely use it again.
