I STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST USING BLOOMFIELD GARDENS, POOLS & LANDSCAPING
In 2013 my wife and I hired Bloomfield Gardens, Pools & Landscaping to construct a stone patio in our back garden. So pleased were we with the crew and their work that on FEBRUARY 9th, 2017 we hired them to install a patio and re-landscape our front garden and paid a deposit of $1500.00. Spring 2017 was exceptionally wet and our project, like others, was delayed. We understood this and informed Bloomfield we were okay with a delayed start date. Bloomfield was unable to start our project in 2017 and in December we were informed that we would be the first install for 2018 and would be contacted in . . .
March 2018 – NEVER HAPPENED
April – NEVER HAPPENED
May – NEVER HAPPENED
Although we had seen landscapers working in our neighbourhood in April, we had heard nothing from Bloomfield. We were going on vacation beginning May 24th so on . . .
April 2nd – emailed Bloomfield with our vacation dates, which they acknowledged. They advised they wanted our project installed before we left on vacation and they would contact us shortly to schedule. NEVER HAPPENED
May 3rd – contacted Bloomfield to postpone the install until after our vacation . . . NO RESPONSE
May 7th – re-sent email of May 3rd – received response same day advising we had
not been forgotten and a start date for after our vacation would be emailed . . .
NEVER HAPPENED
June 5th – received email from Bloomfield advising they were ready to start. We were in California and thought it strange since they knew our return date.
June 20th – asked when our start date was and received this reply, “We start closer to your area next week. Let me get together with Joe tonight and I will give you the date.” NEVER HAPPENED
It now seemed the rules of the game had changed. We were told that work was done according to when the deposit was paid, now it appeared work was being done by area. We had paid our deposit almost a year and a half ago and we still couldn’t get a start date!
June 21st – emailed Bloomfield requesting a meeting to discuss our project . . .
NO RESPONSE
June 29th – with no response to our concerns or any indication of a start date, I emailed Bloomfield about our dissatisfaction regarding their lack of communication, their lack of interest in our project and requested our deposit be returned. Reply received in TWENTY-FOUR MINUTES that refund would be sent right away. We could almost hear their sigh of relief that we’d reached the limit of our patience and cancelled. We received our deposit almost 3 weeks later.
It is our belief that they are now so heavily into the more lucrative pool installation business our project was no longer of any concern to them. How long they would have kept us hanging on is known only to them. We were repeat customers and can’t understand why we were treated so poorly.
