I had a great experience with Chung & Kings Plumbing so good that I felt compelled to write them this review. We hired Chung to install an air conditioner something I thought Id never Id never need living in Calgary, but last summer changed my mind. Chung came highly recommended and for good reason! He was responsive and professional to deal with throughout the entire process, starting with his quote. Despite the shortage of A/C units in the city, he managed to find us a great unit at a very reasonable cost. The day of the install, Chung and his crew arrived right on time and got to work quickly. They were professional, polite, and explained what they were doing throughout the whole process, answering all of my (probably annoying) questions. While installing the A/C coil, Chung took the time to point out and fix some sloppy ductwork from the original homebuilders. Chung and his team were fast, efficient, and very respectful of my house. Its obvious that theyre professionals who care about the smallest details and take pride in their work. All the new ducting and wiring was installed cleanly and neatly, and they cleaned up thoroughly after themselves when they were done. Were thrilled to finally have air conditioning in our house and Chungs price was very reasonable for the quality of the A/C unit and his service work. Other companies Id called quoted me much higher for lower-end units and I doubt theyd have matched the quality of Kings work. I highly recommend Chung and Kings Plumbing and theyre my go-to service company for all of my plumbing and HVAC needs, going forward!

We had a great experience with TH Fireplaces. They immediately replied to our service request on Homestars to have our two fireplaces cleaned and pilot lights restored. Amy, the technician, arrived earlier than the scheduled time (which was great because it allowed us to get on with the rest of our day). It had been at least 5 years since our fireplaces were working/used. Amy went above and beyond and took both fireplaces apart, thoroughly cleaned and vacuumed them both out. She repainted the fireboxes for both with heat-resistant paint, removed and cleaned the ceramic fake “logs” inside and cleaned the glass on both fireplaces. It’s nice to feel like the person you hired went above and beyond and really delivered value for your money. We’ll be using TH Fireplaces exclusively from now on And I can’t recommend them highly enough. Amy was also pleasant and informative about how to care for our fireplaces in the future.

We had a great experience with GBS Painting and can’t recommend them highly enough. GBS Painting repainted basically our entire house and we love the new loom. Scott was recommended to us by a friend who he’s done work for before. Scott was pleasant and professional to deal with. He was punctual, responsive, and fast. He treated our house like it was his own, and fixed many minor defects and mistakes made by the original painters. This included fixing cut lines, patching, sanding and filling holes before repainting. His crew also touched up a bunch of minor nicks and scuffs in the trim and baseboards. When you hire Scott, his eye for detail ensures that nothing is missed. He made sure that we were completely satisfied with the look of everything before he left. His crew also worked fast and cleaned up thoroughly as they worked. It only took 2.5 days to completely repaint our entire home. We’d gotten some other quotes and even though they were a bit less, they would have taken longer and didn’t include any of the extra touch ups and patching/filling holes, etc that GBS Painting did for us. Even when we ended up having to use more expensive paint, due to supplier issues, Scott honoured his original quote to us. I can’t recommend GBS Painting enough. Their work is exceptional and a great value for the quality you’re getting. Scott is our go-to guy for all of our painting needs from now on.

Had an issue with a noisy fridge. Appliance Service Centre got back to me quickly when I submitted a service request. The tech, Louis came out the next day to check out my fridge. He quickly diagnosed the issue (fridge wasn’t elevated enough at the front, which was the cause of the noise) and fixed it for me. He also took the time to explain what the issue was and was pleasant and personable to deal with. Overall, I’m quite pleased with APC, and would definitely call them again. Pleasant and professional company to deal.

Had a great experience with Best Doors and wanted to leave them a review. My wall button for my garage door had stopped working. I also wanted to get my door checked and serviced as a preventative measure. I found Best Doors on HomeStars. When I called to make an appointment, Tony was pleasant and professional to deal with over the phone. He showed up right on time. Tony ended up replacing my wall button. He even replaced both the lights in my opener and the battery in the outside wall panel for me. While he was inspecting and servicing my door, he noticed that the company (not him) that had replaced my springs 2.5 years ago had the wrong spring type and tension on one side of the door. He adjusted it and the door is much smoother and quieter since. His rates are very reasonable as well: he told me that his charge for replacing the springs was nearly $400 cheaper than I paid! ? All in all, I had a great experience with Best Doors and would recommend them to anybody who needs their garage serviced or repaired. Tony is pleasant, professional and thorough. His attention to detail was evident from the way that he identified and corrected a problem that I didn’t even know was there! He’s my go-to garage guy from now on, and if you’re reading this, he should be yours, too!

Wanted to write another review to share my latest fantastic experience with Heatmasters. Got home from work last night and noticed that my furnace kept starting up and then turning off. It also wouldn't raise the temperature past 19°, despite being set at 21°. Of course, after my first experience with Heatmasters, Dmitiri is the only person I'll call for any HVAC issue. I called him and he answered immediately. Gave him a synopsis of the problem and he said he'd call me back shortly. When he called back, he'd actually remembered me from the last time he helped me out (over 2 years ago). He immediately sent his colleague over to my place in the far NW. He called back shortly with some bad news: his coworkers van had broken down and was stranded at the side of the road and he was at a call in the far south. At this point, I'd resigned myself to not shutting off my furnace for the night and having him come out to deal with it tomorrow. But Dmitiri isn't the kind of guy to leave you in the lurch. He was able to diagnose the problem over the phone, based on my description of what was happening. He then told me that he was confident that this was something that I could resolve myself with his guidance. He gave me very clear, step by step instructions on how to remove the top panel from my furnace and identify the flame sensor rod that was the issue. I sent him a few picture and he confirmed what I was looking. He then walked me through removing it, cleaning it thoroughly, and replacing it. Sure enough, he was right, and as soon as I followed his directions, the issue was resolved. I truly appreciate his commitment to his customers and to helping me out even when it wasn't possible for him to make it out to my house (which I totally understood). As usual, he was prompt, pleasant and thorough. I can't think of a lot of companies who would take the time to help out a customer, even when they weren't making money on the service call and that's why I felt compelled to leave him another review on here. I've said it before and I'll say it again: Dmitri and Heatmasters are the only company you should call for all of your HVAC needs. I recommend them to everyone I know and if you call them once, you'll do the same!

Woke up this morning to find that my furnace was blowing cold air only. When it's -26 ° outside, that's a problem. Dmitri came out to fix the problem. Before he even got to my house, he was professional and called me an hour before to let me know he was on his way. When he arrived, he was friendly and personable. Throughout the job, he took the time to show and explain clearly to me what he was doing ever step of the way. When a problem came up, due to a non-Trane part, he drove all the way across town back to his supplier to get another part. When that part wasn't the issue, he didn't try to force me to buy an expensive board that wasn't necessary. Eventually, he diagnosed the problem and the repair went quickly after that. Considering the amount of time he was at my home and despite being extremely busy due to the weather, his rate was extremely reasonable and he never rushed and was extremely thorough. He even upgraded my crappy old thermostat with a nice, new programmable one for a very reasonable cost. If you've got a furnace or any HVAC needs, you need to call Dmitri at 1 (403) 808-8075. I rarely ever leave online reviews for companies, but he was just that good. And top of it all, he was a cool, friendly guy - the type of guy you'd want to hang out with even if he wasn't fixing your furnace. He's the only guy I'll call from now on. I'm planning on having him back in the next few months to repair my humidifier.
