The Garage Door Depot website states that they service all makes and models. I called and had a repairman come. He told me they do not service my type of door. I would have to pay $250 to have the spring replaced, he would have to come back to do the work, and on top of that, I was expected to pay $100 for for the service call today. I called and spoke to a lady who said she was the service manager. She didn`t have any explanation as to why their website states that they service all makes and models, when if fact, they don`t. She told me I was lucky because they normally charge $150 for a service call. This appears to be false advertising, and is certainly very poor service.

Thanks Tony for your review and I am sorry you did not have a great experience with our company. We strive at all times to deliver the highest level of service and support to our customers.
I did review your service experience with the dispatcher, the technician and the service manager involved. To start, we do service all makes and models on the market today. There are older doors out there which any door company would be challenged to service but by and large we can handle most any situation we encounter. In your case you have a unique torsion system on your door called a TorqueMaster. We can replace these systems when they fail however they are costly and don't provide the longer lifecycle that a standard exposed spring torsion system would provide. Thus we don't keep them in stock.
The exposed spring is often what we recommend to customers which is what happened in this case. Our technician offered to "convert" your system from a TorqueMaster to a standard torsion system. This is more expensive than a basic spring change as it requires our technician to replace other components on your door to allow the conversion. The technician did not have with him all components thus would have to return. Under normal circumstance, had you agreed to have us complete the conversion, your initial callout charge would not have been charged to you. We would have simply arranged to return with all parts and completed the job.
I would be more than happy to return to your home and have one of our technicians complete a conversion for you or replace the existing TorqueMaster. If you had us back for this, we would happily credit your first call back to you.
I look forward to making this right with you and getting your door working 100% and safely.
Yours truly. Dean. C. General Manager. Vancouver Branch.
