Unfortunately the attic is arguably the most neglected area of the home when it comes to insulation, although it is one of the only places where the state of the insulation is visible, most have never even been up there to inspect it!!! Even when it is inspected by auditors, inspectors, contractors and homeowners alike, their lack of knowledge in regards to the building envelope makes most believe that a simple top-up is the solution, and sometimes it is, but many homes, especially the older residences that were built prior to the advancement of building science, have very old insulation that has lost its R-value, non-existent vapor barriers, uninsulated ductwork, exposed attic walls etc., all of which can lead to excessive heat loss, and serious issues such as mold. We pride ourselves on providing full assessments of the attic, and also advising on solutions to these problems, as well as doing our best to avoid potential issues in the near or distant future, as we offer a plethora of insulation applications which all can perform well given the right circumstances.
