We have used Kassel Painting several times over the last 15 years, mostly for interior painting, but also for installing baseboards and to build a custom fireplace mantle. There are several reasons we keep going back to them: 1) The owner Peter is an honest person and gives good, sound advice; 2) Their painters do solid work and the end results are good value for the money; and 3) If something is not to our satisfaction, talking to Peter gets the problem fixed with little fuss. Peter clearly places great importance on maintaining a good relationship with his customers. So far, we have use Kassel mostly for interior work, but plan to go with them for painting the outside of our house next year.

I contacted Alex through his website and asked him many questions about replacing the old staircase at the back of our house, and he answered all of them with patience and knowledge. He mostly supplies wood materials, and I wanted metal balusters, so I bought them separately from a supplier in Chilliwack. It turns out the supplier could not deliver all the way to Vancouver before construction was to begin, and Alex kindly offered to receive the delivery at his home, which was closer to the supplier. On the day of construction, Alex and his wife came at 8AM and worked more or less straight through to 8PM, under a very hot sun. They completed the whole job in a single day, and did an excellent job with a lot of attention to detail. Alex pointed out several important improvements that he added to make sure our new stairs meet the latest building codes. Overall, the stairs look very solidly built and we expect them to last many years. Alex and his wife even dug out all the weeds and grass that were growing between the cracks of the driveway underneath and around the stairs. I would not hesitate to recommend Pulsar Construction; this is business run by honest people who care about quality.
