Mid-life crisis out of my Lennox Mid-efficient furnace, 8yrs old. the inducer motor went a few months ago and was replace. Trouble-shooted my humidifier as well and all good. Determined something wrong with the blower motor this week and started smelling burnt electrical yesterday. I made an online appointment Aug 23rd at 11:30am and hoped for a technician Aug 24th on my day off (never expected). Gave an alternate date for next Wednesday. Had to shut down the entire system so the fan wouldn't engage. Thankfully not winter yet. Got a call from McKinley Service Experts this morning informing of the pending tech visit and Eric showed up within the window of 8-10am. Explained the situation and he also quickly deduced the blower motor had seized. He had a replacement in the truck, but my mounting bracket was different. He hastily went to the shop for the correct motor and was back in half hour. he had the unit installed and working within another half hour. All fixed again withing 24hrs of making the call; couldn't ask for more in the service from these guys. A $1000 this year on the 2 major motors...hoping for another 8-10yrs out of this furnace. Eric was very professional, clean and quick. He even took away the old inducer motor that was left by the last technician, saving me a trip to the recycling plant. other than the price of the motor itself, the service call was excellent.
