He took $1,000's of dollars in deposits in the days and weeks prior to shutting his business and store down, Nov. 12, with full police presence, overseeing the moving van emptying his store. Yet he lives within blocks of the people he knowingly took their deposits from. He lives in a nice home and drives a pricey Volkswagen Tourag, meanwhile we like others are left holding the bag, and have nothing but half done kitchen renovations. We have no kitchen, no cabinets. Unfortunately we are out thousands and will have to pay another contractor to finish our project. We have not heard from him or his lawyer as he said we would two weeks ago. Calls and e-mails are not being returned. Please be warned caveat emptor!!!!!

Approximate cost of services:
$20,000.00
Any advice to offer fellow homeowners facing a similar project?
Ask for all professional credentials up front. His contractor license, his insurance, his most recent renovation reference. Ask how many years in business. Ask that all work be inspected and approved by the local building inspectors. His personal credentials-licensed electrician?, carpenter?, plumber? How many jobs does he work on at the same time? Only set up monthly payment schedule, DO NOT PAY 40% up front ever!!!!!!!!!!!
