Faulty air conditioner diagnostic
I would never do business with these guys EVER again. My central AC wasn't cooling properly, so I called them over. The technician plugs in his equipment and show me the meters saying the pressure is uneven, that my compressor is shot, and that my dryer is clogged. Diagnostic: I need a whole new AC, which he quotes me on the spot for $2000 and is very insistent about. Thank god my wife suggested we get a 2nd opinion from another company. The other tech tech plugs in the same equipment in my AC and his meters show that the pressure is just fine, he tells me my compressor is also working fine, and upon checking on the dryer, he tells me there is a minor temperature change, but nothing major. He then pulls out the filter, which is filthy beyond belief, something the tech from A&G NEVER checked on. It was just a dirty filter. The moment I changed it, my AC went back to working normally. So naturally, we call A&G, and ask a refund on the $111.87 "diagnostic" they gave us. After arguing with us, asking for scans of the Reliance receipt to prove they were right, the girl my wife spoke to had the nerve to hang up on her! We called back and got no answer, we left a message and never heard back. Using faulty equipment, misleading me into buying an AC I didn't need, and then pushy sales tactics, this is NOT a good way to run a business. Just another proof that you should stick to the big names for this kind of repair.
